Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia. I can't remember names of places but I loved so many things about Spain when I visited in 2005!

For sure the cities @PurpleUnicorn: mentioned, they're all beautiful. I also love Alicante because we got married there (and A is getting christened there next month) so I'm biased and also this http://www.puebloacantilado.com/en is where we had our reception and it's super, super beautiful to stay at.

Barcelona was my favorite place I visited. It was ten tears ago so I won't be much help with specific places to eat but I liked paella & tapas!

Definitely Barcelona! One of my favourite cities in Europe - it's just awesome, that is all I can say about it.

I'm so jealous! Spain is fantastic! I love all of the cities previous posters have mentioned. I studied abroad there and visited pretty much every city, though it was almost 15 years ago! Let me know if you have any questions.

Been to Barcelona a few times, it's pretty great! Definitely try to go to Tapas 24, and eat their Patatas Bravas, and Pan Catalonia. (sp?) The potatoes are the best I've had in Barcelona, everything is so good there! Go early because a line forms out the door!
Also there's this "fake" old town called El Poble Espanol. It was set up in the 20's I think for some kind of fair. It depicts a typical Spanish town from long ago. They were going to demolish it after the fair, but they kept it up and it's pretty cool to go to! (You might have to check that story, my memory is spotty!) But we went there and saw a Flamenco Dinner show that was cool.
Also, Cava! Drink lots of Cava, and get Cava Sangria if you can! So good!

@PurpleUnicorn: @travelgirl1: @mrs. bird: @jhd: @BeachMama: @Ree723: @softcream: @78h2o: @TheSwissWifeStyle: thx ladies!!! I think Barcelona is definitely the top contender. I think we will be there 6 nights. Think 3 in Barcelona and 3 in another city is enough? Maybe Madrid? I'll have to look up the other cities, thx ladies!
@78h2o: wow! I think I would have loved to have lived in Spain for a bit! I think I would really enjoy the food and maybe my Spanish would have improved!

I would definitely go to Granada. It's a little off the beaten path b/c it's in southern Spain, but it has the Alhambra which is an AMAZING site. It's also great to go there because southern Spain is very different from Madrid and Barcelona in that it's heavily influenced by the Moors, so the architecture, the food, and everything else has an Arabic influence.

We went to Barcelona, Madrid, then drove around the north. I loved Barcelona (all the Gaudi stuff!) Also Bilbao has an awesome Guggenheim museum. A Coruña was a great small city to walk around in. And driving through the Picos de Europa was amazing, there are so many miniscule cities along the way, along with super old cobblestone cities. There are some great castles all around also!

Madrid, Barcelona, Segovia, Granada, Cordoba, Sevilla, Salamanca, Toledo. I highly recommend Madrid/Barcelona and somewhere in Andalucia (ie Granada, Sevilla, Cordoba). The south of Spain is very cool!
I studied in Spain in college, so I travelled quite a bit. I lived in Madrid.

I second (or 10th) the Barcelona recommendations. I was robbed and had my passport/credit cards stolen there, but I'd STILL go back. Loved it. And I also loved Madrid. If you go to Madrid, you should see a bullfight at the old bull ring. It was really cool.
I really wanted to go to Sevilla, too, but after getting robbed I didn't have much money and was too afraid to continue traveling on my own (my sister was with me in Barcelona and Madrid, but she was supposed to leave from Madrid and I was supposed to stay another week to continue exploring on my own).
