Let's talk shoes. What type of shoes does your daughter wear when dressed up for a special occasion? Do you buy special occasion shoes? Can you show me pics of hers? I'm stuck and looking for a pair of shoes for Easter.

I don't really buy special occasion shoes. Mainly because a) we host 90% of the time so she never leaves the house. B) she only wants to wear her sneakers. With everything.

We always have at least one pair of special occasion shoes in LO's current size. Right now, we have the SKR Kimmie:

I have the toms black sparkly Mary Janes for Dd. They are fancy enough to wear with a dress but casual enough to wear every day so she gets a lot of wear out of them

Baby Gap, Old Navy, and I just ordered a pair from a crazy 8, for Easter.

My LO always has a pair of Mary Janes around. Currently, they are black patent, from See Kai Run. They are her favorite though, so they are pretty beat up. Oh well.
They aren't exactly these but are similar:

She currently has a pair of black patent leather Mary Janes from Payless that she absolutely adores. I want to get her the summer version of those for Easter.

She usually wears her white L&L Petals for dress up occasions. She's nearly grown out of her current pair ( )but I have L&L Lunas in the next size and they are SO cute! Planning on having her wear these for Easter and with her dresses this spring and summer.

I bought a pair for her one year old photos and party and then they became everyday shoes (silver skr Mary Janes). We also have hand me down black mj that are in great condition. I need to get her Easter ones though, I may just go with something inexpensive because I think white will look best but they won't last long with a toddler. I am a big fan of Mary Jane's though because they look cute but can be found by companies that make comfortable shoes too.

@regberadaisy: okay. We have a few special occasions coming up so I need examples.
@pwnstar: @catlady: @Cole: SKR are so popular! I may have to look into those, thank you!
@twodoghouse: I wish M would wear Petals!!!
@avivoca: those are really the perfect little dress-up shoe, aren't they?? I may have to go have her try those on in the white for Easter!

@mediagirl: Alice is picky about shoes, but she loved her Petals from the first second she put them on! I was nervous she wouldn't like the Birdies as much, but she's crazy about those too.

Her favorite pair of "fancy shoes" are light up Elsa shoes from the Disney store.
Also, sequin black Toms. Some sequin covered ivory shoes from Nordstrom Rack (not sure of brand). She had a pair of pink Stuart Wiseman's with a rhinestone heart that she loved but has outgrown.

@mediagirl: They really are! They are the SmartFit brand so they are pretty comfortable too. She would wear them every day if I would let her.

My girls are pretty picky, and only like shoes that are lightweight, flexible, and that they can put on themselves. We have had Stride Rite, Pediped and See Kai Run mary janes. Right now we actually have a pair of mary janes from Marshalls, and they have been great. (They were like $16 and have held up wonderfully.) I only ever get black or brown dress shoes so that they can wear them all year round.

@Mamaof2: yeah, my DD is pretty much obsessed with her Elsa shoes! We just went on a Disney cruise and whenever she met a princess, she 1) had to be wearing the shoes, of course, and then 2) had to show each princess how they light up. It was totally cracking me up "here Ariel, look at my Elsa shoes, they have heels and light up!"

My friend gave her these Stuart Weitzman ballet flats (the ones in the middle of this pic) and my toddler is obsessed with them. She's been wearing them for a really long time and they are so beat up now because she always wants to wear them even when it's not really appropriate (no you can't wear your sparkly shoes to the park in the rain...) I don't know what we will do when she outgrows them.
