I noticed in the feet picture thread that one of the feet has painted toe nails, and I just wondered what the general consensus was on the age you would let your LO wearnail polish or hands or feet

Well.... I'm okay with it on her toe nails for now (obviously, since it was my pic lol) and I'd be okay with it on her finger nails when her putting her hands in her mouth all the time isn't a concern, so maybe pre-school age?.
I can't wait till she asks her daddy to paint them! tehe

Our daycare paints the kids' nails with magic markers to help them learn colors. I think DD started that when she was around a year...
I don't know about real fingernail polish, though. I guess we'll cross that hurdle when she asks about it!

If I have a girl I will get the organic, chemical free nailpolish! I've been wanting some for myself anyhow. I love doing little girls' nails tho, I said 1-3

I have piggy paint for myself which is a natural nail polish because nail polish smell gives me migraines. I'll let LO start wearing it when she starts wanting to and can sit still long enough not to make a mess.

The second she is born lol. I am a polish addict, and my daughter can be my guinea pig. It's so cute on lil babies! I have painted my male cats toenails and they looked so cute!

I voted 6-9. I see girls that age in the nail salon with their mommies getting polish put on and I think it's so cute. I would only allow it for special occasions, though.

Whenever she wanted! When she's real little, I'll get some polish for her thats ok to nibble on, and once she graduates from the "everything in mouth" stage; onto real polish we go!

When she asks for it, and then I'll get organic chemical free polish. I asked to wear it at four, so I think there's a good chance it will be around that age.

I'll probably start painting her toes in about a year or so? I tried the other day and she wouldn't stop moving them!
Nails.. probably not until 4-6? Just for special occasions though.

I saw baby-safe nail polish at the checkout counter at Buy Buy Baby and it made me wonder if I could paint 10 tiny toes for her newborn photos!!!

I started when she was one, she was never one to suck on her fingers or anything. I typically paint her toes more than her fingers though since she can never hold still and not touch anything long enough to not ruin it.

I wasnt allowed to wear colored nail polish til I was about 11 or 12 I was only allowed to wear clear or glitter polish. I think I will do the same for my daughter.

My sister painted DD's nails one time when she was between 18-24m but she didn't paint her thumbs since DD sucks on both of them. She hasn't had her nails painted since but keeps pointing out my painted toes and sort of asking for hers to be painted too (she's currently 28m) but won't sit still for me to put her hair in pigtails so polish is going to have to wait. Regular wear I probably won't allow until she is closer to 6-9yo.
