My dad has a very strong personality. He's passionate, driven, opinionated, a man of character, a visionary.. who loves and fears the Lord. Growing up I looked up to him and he was (is) my hero. I wanted to marry someone just like him.
And I DID!

Yes! My dad is a very mellow, chill guy. He generally goes with the flow and lets my mom do whatever she wants and be the one in charge. And my husband is the exact same way! I love it!

I can see definitely see similarities between my dad and my husband but more than anything I love the relationship they have - they are both extremely smart and opinionated, they never have a shortage of conversation, they even exchange books they read that they think the other would like. It makes me really happy.

Yes. They are almost exactly the same, except my husband is a little more chatty. They are both metro-sexual, but are men's men. They build things, fix things, and unfortunately like to kill things. They are also both very goofy and super sensitive. They both cry openly and can easily well up over a sentimental birthday card. They're both also amazingly dedicated partners and parents. I couldn't have asked for anything more in either of them.

My hubby does some little things that are like my dad. It creeps me out. Like he does this really huge sigh. He's like him in the fact that they're both very nice guys, and very family oriented.
But for the most part no, they're not alike.

Most definitely. While DH is a "newer/modern" version, he is very much similar to my dad. They're both driven and love sports. They are very family-oriented and are both tough guys who wear their heart on their sleeve.

My husband is more interested in finances than my dad (which is good, because I share my dad's position of "I don't care, so long as we can still eat when the bills are paid.") Otherwise, they are very similar. My husband has my parents' best traits, and I love it. He's so silly!

Not at all! But I am marrying my Papa (grandpa), which is good. 
They have many of the same interests even, so it's not anything my family is unfamiliar with. My Papa was a stand-up guy, one of those very respectable, solid men. I've always been drawn to that in people, and am glad I found it in FI. They aren't carbon copies of eachother (my Papa was MUCH better financially, I think because he grew up in a very frugal time.) We are striving to adopt his philsophies though.

Yes! They are very selfless, hardworking, God-fearing, motivated men. They are all about family and very protective of me (in a healthy way). They are the type of men that you can depend on and will do anything to see their family happy. Plus, they both eat a ton. lol

generally, yes. both very strong, but moderately introverted people who are very hard workers.
But they are also different in a lot of ways (interests, hobbies, etc)

In some ways yes. My Dad and DH get along so great I love it, because they are alike in many ways. Ok, ok...I guess... yes I did!

Definitely not! My dad is very quiet, shy and keeps mostly to himself. My husband is the complete opposite - he is so loud and outgoing, I can barely get him to shut up! lol

I married my brother. He's 15 years older than me and we are super close. My husband is just like him, loud, funny, and can talk your head off.

My husband is more like my brothers than my dad. He has a lot of the same interests and hobbies as my brothers and a lot of the same personality traits.

Yes, absolutely. My husband and dad are so alike it's scary. I notice more of the similarities now that we're married more than I did when we were dating.

My dad is the kind of man that is very closed with his feelings, I've only seen him cry once in my adult life. He would do anything for his children, though.
My husband is more sensitive but he still would do anything for either me or our son.
