Thank God I've never run into any of my exes! I'd probably walk/run in the opposite direction if I ever did.

I was forced to see an ex at a wedding two years ago. This ex was one of two who REALLY broke my heart - like totally broke my heart in half. Our breakup wasn't bad or ugly, it was just sad. I hadn't seen him in years until the day of my friend's wedding and I was coming down the stairs of the venue to the foyer and he was walking through the door and it was sad/awkward. It was just a simple, "Oh, hi...How are you?"...I thought I could avoid him but he was the MC of the wedding and had to introduce me for a speech. And he was at the table next to me...SIGH. It wasn't tragic...Just sad!

Yes, we live in a small town, so its pretty inevitable. Its kinda awkward, but we only dated for a short time when DH and I were broken up, so its not so bad.

I did see an ex a few months ago when DH and i were at an event in my hometown. luckily he didn't see me and I didn't say a word, and DH didn't know him from Adam. It would not have been terrible if he had seen me, because we were young when we were together and it's been a really long time. I just wouldn't know what to say.
I did notice that he is balding, and he's only 25. I'm happy with my end of the deal
On another note, I remember being with my mom in the grocery store when i was a kid and she spotted her first husband (from before she married my dad). She grabbed me and we ducked down an aisle lol.

No, thankfully I have not. I don't have any contempt toward them. It'd just be awkward. Luckily none of them live anywhere near me anymore!

Thank goodness I do not live in the same state of any of my ex's!
However a couple yrs ago I saw my ex husband. He is friends with my good friend. (sore subject) and he was doing a road trip and stopped at her house. I was not happy, she happened to be my neighbor AND my soon to be in-laws were up visiting our place for the FIRST time. It was HORRIBLE. He actually asked for some of his stuff that I still had and tried to come over to get it among a few other things. UGH!!!!

I was in a wedding party with one of my ex's ...... Awkward! Originally I had given the bride the out so she didn't have to ask me. We were really good friends but my ex and her hubbie were best friends. So I graciously bowed out. Well she called me 3 weeks before the wedding because one of her bridesmaids was being a wench and they had a falling out. Well she asked me to stand in... There is no way I could say no to a crying bride... So I spent the whole day with my ex. It was awkward and we had to ride in the same vehicle after the ceremony.... Oh fun.

Yes.... ugh, one of the few (in my mind) downsides of living in a small town. He's so obnoxious. We run into him pretty much every year at a local festival, and he is usually drunk, and comes over and pretends to be friends with my family and sits down with us and just won't GO AWAY. It drivew my whole family crazy.

Well I stayed in touch with my hs ex. We were 'online friends' through college... saw him a couple times during college.
My college and last ex, I have not run into.... I am still friends with his cousin (they don't speak much) who keeps in touch with me via phone/text/visits

My ex harassed me for 3 years until I moved to a different city (with my now DH), changed my phone number, cut out all of our mutual friends, and changed my email address. If I ever saw him again I might call the police because I would be afraid he somehow tracked me down again.

Ooops, I just posted this in the other thread. I'm terrified of running into my ex, I don't even know if he lives here anymore. Hope not! I especially don't want to run into him when I have LO with me, I don't want her exposed to him.

We moved away from home so there are no exes here. I have run into ex-friends. That's always awkward...

Unfortantely in a state like mine you tend to run into each other more often than you would like. Last time I saw my most serious ex was in line for a port-a-potty at a tailgate for a football game, I said Hi and that was it. Talk about awkward

last time i saw an ex was about 3 years ago at my bro's wedding. he stayed friends with my bro. it was a bit awkward, but okay. we broke up over 13 years ago or so....
