Mine is clean and preserved in a box. My mom took it to get it done for me. My sister and I had taken her dress out of the box to try it on while I was wedding planning so she wanted to get hers re-preserved so she just took mine while she was at it!

Mine is in the closet too.... and hasn't been cleaned either. It was red so you can't really see the dirt on it anyways lol (I am planning on getting it cleaned, but have been lazy about it)

Attic, cleaned, but stuffed in a box. I hope the LO can cut it up one day and use it for something!

My mom had it cleaned and preserved for me. It's sitting in a box in a storage closet right now.

Mine is cleaned and folded up in a drawer...it was lace so it doesn't take up much room at all.

Uncleaned and hanging in the closet as well. It's not even in a dust bag!! Oops! I want to get it cleaned and preserved, just haven't gotten around to it. yet. It's only been 1.5 years. Not bad right? Ha!

@banana: That's freaking awesome!! Nosy, but what was the cost to do something like that? Is it cheaper or about the same as purchasing a dress?

Wow, I'm surprised by how many of us didn't clean our gowns! Phew! Mine was hanging in my closet for over a year and I hadn't cleaned it and was feeling so awful about it because all my friends had theirs cleaned and boxed right after their weddings! Mine was going to cost $600+ to clean, which I thought was insane! Plus, the dress place recommended it be cleaned at a place in Westchester...and I live/bought it in Boston!
I finally sold it when I was going through my crazy nesting phase, uncleaned, to a bride to be on Weddingbee for a huge discount. I was so happy to have it out of the nursery closet as it was taking up so much space!

@Rubies: Mine is hanging in the closet in our baby nursery. I didn't get it cleaned either!
My veil is scrunched up in a box somewhere.

I got it cleaned and preserved/boxed by an online company. My mom was horrified by the black marks I got from running around on the streets for pictures, so she paid for me to send it out to clean. I'm supposed to take it out once in a while to let it air out, but I haven't for a while.

@banana: That's so neat to have a custom dress for your wedding! Love all the extras they include in the package as well. For that price, that's not bad at all!

I sent mine off to a charity that takes wedding gowns/prom dresses, cuts them up, and makes them into little gowns for premature babies whose families have to say goodbye to them.

Hanging in the closet, in the bag I bought it in. It is not cleaned/preserved. But I kind of like that it has the day's elements on it, dirt from our venue, maybe a food stain. I like it. Maybe I'm gross.

@Rubies: me too! not cleaned and just hanging in the same guest room closet for the last 1. year....

In closet and not cleaned. Need to get it cleaned so I can get a christening gown made out of it when I get pregnant.

I had a it professionally dry cleaned and preserved. Been trying to sell it!

@leelee: I'm so curious, wish I would have known about this before I got married - where did you rent your gown from?

Professionally cleaned and preserved. It is in a special box in the closet. I've been thinking about selling it since we have a son and don't plan on any more children but at the same time - I love my dress.
I had grand plans to hire my boudoir photographer to do photos of me in the dress with my son (kind of artistic type photos) but never got around to it.

@beka: it was from a place called "One Night Affair" in Los Angeles. they specialize in providing dresses for movies, tv shows, and red carpet events. It was very convenient because alternations and cleaning were all included in the price.
