I saw another post asking what was the last book that you bought or borrowed for LO. But what is the last book that you read yourself?
For me I just finished reading a book called Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers (amazing book by the way! Its a romance novel)
I am now currently starting the series The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo!

The last book I finished was The Marriage Plot by Jeffrey Eugenides. I just started 11/22/63 by Stephen King a couple days ago. I've never read a Stephen King book before so I was a little uncertain, but it's really good so far!

I've been reading books about parenting... and also, I like to read detective novels for reasons I don't fully understand. I've been reading a bunch of Jonathan Kellerman novels about Alex Delaware, a psychologist who helps a police detective solve crimes.

I'm trying to get through The Weird Sisters for a book club. It's a difficult read for me because it's written differently than most fiction books I read.

@twodoghouse: I read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series, very good (a little gruesome at times) but a very good read!
I just finished 10th Anniversary by James Patterson, it's part of the Women's Murder Club series. Very good, remind me of watching a CSI type TV show. I plan on starting the Hunger Games triology next, I've done them once but want to read them again before the movie comes out! So good for anyone looking for a fun easy read!

@MrsBrewer: SOOO good! I was a little hesitant at first, but I could not put them down and just wanted to find out what happened! Which is why I'm going to read them again, to actually enjoy the story!

@MrsBrewer: In a nutshell, it follows a girl who has to compete in the "Hunger Games" in a post USA world. Each district (state) has to send a boy and a girl into the Games to fight to death until there is only 1 person left standing.
There is also a love story/triangle that goes on. It sounds violent, but most of the violence is done in the background, it's more the story of survival with a slight love story as well.

@bluestriped bee: If you liked these books, another author worth checking out is Lauren Oliver. I read 'Dilerium' & 'Before I Fall' both great books! Delirium reminded me of The Hunger Games in the setting/goverment control.

i just finished "when you are engulfed in flames" by david sedaris. he is so clever and funny, and really interested in human character and absurd situations (or at least absurd trains of thought). there were also some poignant moments as well.

I just finished 'The Birth House' by Ami Mackay and 'A Discovery of Witches' by Deborah Harkness. Both were FANTASTIC - I definitely recommend that you go pick them up. Today's my day off...and I've started reading A Discovery of Witches for a second time.
On vacation last week, I re-read the Hunger Games series, and now I've gotten DH hooked, too. There's just something about YA fiction that makes me happy.
Has anyone read 'The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie'? Its on my list, but I don't want to buy it if its no good.

I finished "Mockingjay" the last book in the Hunger Games series pretty recently and am currently reading "The Room" (and am dying to pick up "The Virgin Cure").
I LOVED the whole Hunger Games series. As in, I read all three in two days and refused to sleep until I had a book completely finished. I am now dying to see the film when it comes out in March.
The Room I am not so crazy about, its won several awards but it strikes me as being kind of similar to soap-opera writing. It also takes a lot from the Elizabeth Smart story IMHO.
Has anyone read the "Virgin Cure" yet? I've heard it's amazing, but I didn't enjoy the "Birth House" so I'm not sure if I'll like it.

I just finished The Pact by Jodi Picault - the same author of My Sister's Keeper. Its a wonderful love story with an awesome twist. I'd definitely recommend it! Next up is Girl with Dragon Tattoo and Kill Alex Cross. So excited! I gave up on parenting books after my dd turned 3months because I was becoming so paranoid with milestones and everything she ought to be!

I just finished Bossypants (Tina Fey) and I am almost finished with Omnivore's Dilemma (Michael Pollan). I think I am going to start the Redwall (Brian Jacques - YA) series next.
My goal is 35 books this year!

I adored the Hunger Games and am so excited for the movies! I am currently reading George R R Martin's 'A Song of Ice & Fire@ series. I have ploughed through A Game of Thrones and A Clash of Kings. Just getting into A Storm of Swords now. So, so good.

I read a lot as it is what relaxes me, but I haven't read anything GOOD lately.

@MaisyMay: Francine Rivers AND Karen Kingsbury are great - my church library carries a ton of them, and I've been working my way through them when I'm not too busy. Now with my Kindle, though, I'm finding it harder to remember to go get them.

I am re-reading Under the Banner of Heaven by Jonathan Krakauer, about the history of the Mormon church and the formation of the Fundamentalist LDS church.
I also recently finished Maus I & II, graphic novels by Art Spiegelman (classic) and some novellas by Nathaniel Hawthorne.
