Mrs. Bee's post about her kids' sizes reminded me of a favorite formula to estimate a child's future height. This is the one I used to use in clinic.
Add the mother's height and the father's height in either inches or centimeters.
Add 5 inches (13 centimeters) for boys or subtract 5 inches (13 centimeters) for girls.
Divide by two.
Most children will reach an adult height within 4 inches (10 centimeters) of this estimation.
By this estimate, Lala will be 5 ft 3.5 inches (sorry baby girl, your genetic input is horrible in this regard!)
and Mei Mei will be 5 ft 10 inches (thanks to the non-involvement of our genetics!).
So I'm wondering how tall your little one would be by this calculation?
