I've had 2 Mirenas and with my first (pre-LO, not sure if that makes any difference tho) I spotted forever - like several months. It was annoying but long term totally worth it for the benefits of Mirena.

With this most recent one (post-LO), I spotted for just a bit, like less than a couple of weeks.

With both once the stopping stopped I either had no period or only spotting during AF time (and spotting so light a liner could easily handle it all day)

Mine is weird. I had the Mirena put in while I was still nursing and before I got my period back (around 11 months), and I had a short period shortly after it was placed. Then I went a month with nothing, had a period and long spotting after which cleared up, then I had another period and even more spotting! It's so annoying.

With my first Mirena, after L, I got at 12 wks pp and had spotting for like 2 weeks and never got a period (BF until the last 2 months). After J I got it at like 6 month pp (i was lazy) and spotted for like 2 months and now just have spotting once a month in the place of a period, I'm still BFing

I spotted for six months.

omg it was awful. I spotted almost every day for like 3-4 months. Then it was like 2 weeks on 2 weeks off for another 5 months. Then just randomly spotting a lot after that until it finally tapered off around 9-10 months after placement. I was just about to get the thing pulled because I was so frustrated with it. But every since 9-10 mo after I've barely bled. I spot for like 2-3 days every month or two and that's it-- it's awesome.

I got my mirena placed at about 9 weeks PP, I think? I spotted for about a week or so after, then I had one random, light period about 9 months after that, and none since (8 months later).

2.5-3 months of mild spotting but then 15+ months of no period. So worth it!
