I started the mini pill (progesterone only) on the first day of my last period. My OB said that would help reduce spotting. Well, I had a 7 day period and then started spotting 4 days later. I'm guessing it's because of the mini pill? If this happened to you while on mini pill, how long did it last?
(I'm not breastfeeding, but using the mini pill rather than full hormonal birth control because we are not sure of whether we will TTC again and don't want to mess too much with my hormones).

I spotted almost the entire time I was on the mini pill, so I had to switch after a few cycles because it was annoying. Maybe just give it more time? Even on regular pills it took my body a good 4 months to adjust.

@Bao: blahhh not what I wanted to hear. We just didn't want to do anything invasive while deciding about our family plans for the next few months. But I'm not down with bleeding every day, either.

I would assume the mini pill is the culprit 
I went back on the regular pill after I finished BFing and I spotted for at least 4 months. I couldn't take it anymore and we switched to condoms. Not ideal but having to wear panty liners/tampons all the time was just too much.

@lawbee11: Gahhh condoms. We haven't used them in 14 years! I'm worried about using nothing though, as we seem to get pregnant very easily.

I had been on the mini pill for years and when I went back on it after pregnancy I spotted on it tons. I rode it out for a couple of months and it stopped (fingers crossed).

I hated the mini-pill. Despite it having "fewer" hormones, I felt like it messed with my WAY more than my normal pre-baby hormonal BC did!

@KayKay: I think it's making me extremely tired as well! I don't want to throw in the towel after only 2 weeks on it, but I am really not feeling it! My OB said there is a better return to fertility after mini pill than regular BCP, but I'm not sure this is worth it.

@LBee: I was on it while I BF my first son....and I remember a little spotting in the beginning and was on it for about 4 months total. Hopefully the spotting will resolve but part of me wonders if I'll spot more because I'm not nursing?

@KayKay: me too. I had a much more negative experience on the mini pill than the regular one. I did have spotting on the mini pill, but I've had spotting for many years and several OBs have told me it must be my normal (nothing else has been diagnosed). I currently have the copper IUD and have spotting with it too.
