@simplyfelicity: The sperm meets egg plan says to bd 3 days once you get a positive opk - do you know when you ovulate in relation to the positive opk? Just 1 more day would probably suffice.

Hi ladies! I was wondering if any of you know, is it normal to have your O day get later each cycle?
I went off nuvaring at the end of December and started charting end of January. February & March I O'd on CD12 and had an LP of 16 then 15. In April, O was CD 15 with an LP of 15 and in May O was CD 18 with a 17 day LP. Now here in June I'm at CD19 and still no temp shift to show I've O'd.
I tried using OPKs last month (the cheapies) but I had a hard time deciphering them. I also try to track CM but I don't seem to have an abundance of any kind.
I'm not too worried at this point but I thought I might see if this is normal. I have a history of thyroid disease (its in remission at the moment) and I'm not sure if a reoccurrence of that could alter things.

@simplyfelicity: I think 3 days after the first is pretty safe. I usually "test out" my surge to see when it ends and then BD one more day past that.
But I can also usually feel when I O so I make sure we do it at least once more after O
But you know what? More wouldn't hurt
@HappyBluebird: It's not abnormal to O on slightly different days. It can also take some time to "normalize" after quitting BC. It took me about 6 months until my cycles were regular.
Maybe wait out this month and if next month is also wonky then talk to your dr about it?
clementine / 957 posts
@MaryM: Thanks for the info! I will definitely wait awhile before calling the dr.

@QBbride: Well now I've had two days of negative opk tests so I'm going to rule out pregnancy. Lol Oh Aunt Flo, I invite you over this month so I can start a new cycle.

@KelLeeLeee: @MaryM: Thanks! Can I count the day I got a positive cheapie and negative digital as day one of the sex marathon? Depending on my opk results today, might skip a day and then BD tomorrow since spermies can live so long.
nectarine / 2465 posts
@simplyfelicity: That day was probably 1 or 2 days before O, but yea I definitely would count it. I think you have a good plan When do you POAS?
pomelo / 5129 posts
@simplyfelicity: My first positive day is usually O-2.
And you can do whatever you want! lol. Some people try to hit every day in the fertile week, but I know DH and I need to pace ourselves. I do my best to make sure we hit at least 3 our of the most fertile 4 though (O-3 to O)
cantaloupe / 6634 posts
@KelLeeLeee: Seems like I am ovulating early this month (or I am having a super long surge) so maybe 6/28--depends on when I can negative OPK. Yours is coming up, right?
cantaloupe / 6634 posts
@MaryM: I know, haha. EOD is nearly as effective as ED, but I somehow forget this info when I actually have to decide. Yeah, I am thinking that day before yesterday, yesterday and tomorrow will be good. Unless DH is feeling extra frisky today.

@simplyfelicity: just reading "sex marathon" made me feel sleepy we are probably not BD'ing enough over here!
cantaloupe / 6634 posts
@cmomma17: Haha, well, maybe more of a sprint. Our first month TTC, we DTD for 8 days in a row. It worked, but it was exhausting. I didn't even want to look at him after that. We are probably just going to do three or four days with maybe one off day in between. I am getting too old for this ish. How are you doing? Don't you POAS soon?
honeydew / 7811 posts
@simplyfelicity: yeah when we TTC #1, I think it was the best time of DH's life haha But I was like - please go away!!! We definitely don't have the same stamina this time around. I'm doing okay. Mostly bored! I have no idea when/if I O'd! So I think I had planned on POAS on June 23rd (seems like forever away) but I don't even think I have a chance of a BFP. We'd only BD'd 3 times this cycle and I'm just not feeling hopeful I guess? Today is CD 24 for me and my cycles on average (pre-baby) are 32 days.

@cmomma17: BD for #2 is *the worst* - both of our hormones are lower (did you know that the smell of his child lowers a man's testosterone? keeps him from going out to conquer things, I guess...), we have less time, we are exhausted... It's FUN!
In all honesty, though, I feel so differently about timing this time around. Last time I was all about hitting every. single. possible. day. This time around ain't nobody got time for that! So I would rather EOD and make sure we hit a couple of times *before* O so I can be sure there's something there for that precious egg.
cantaloupe / 6634 posts
@septca: Same here, I prefer EOD but when I got the on my opk yesterday, I went into "GET ALL THE SPERM" robot mode. I had no idea about the relationship between a child's scent and testosterone!

@anonysquire: you definitely don't think it's related to implantation rather than your period?
cantaloupe / 6923 posts
@meredithNYC: I don't know. I'm on cd 23. I just figured af was coming early.
honeydew / 7811 posts
@septca: UGH, so true! Less (zero) energy, less (zero) time, less (zero) privacy, less (zero) desire!! We did it three times this month, with two days of rest in between and that is a miracle! One night I said to DH "what is the minimum I have to do to make this happen?" Sexy!
My stepkids are heading our way on a plane right now ... they will be here for 6 weeks. If we don't get a BFP this cycle, we might as well not try at all until August!
honeydew / 7811 posts
@anonysquire: I'm close to you, CD 24. How long are your cycles typically? Mine are 32 days on average. I was feeling super emotional today and thought the same as you - AF must be coming early!
cantaloupe / 6923 posts
@cmomma17: this is my first cycle post baby. So really I don't know. And also I shouldn't be sad if this isn't my month because I have my cute baby Z. But I felt good about this month!!! An my cycles enforce baby were like 40+ days. PCOS.
pomegranate / 3314 posts
@anonysquire: sounds like you are still "in" to me, though I know how hard it is not to second guess every symptom.
@cmomma17: I have been a raging beast lately - like for the past week or so and I'm on cd 21 of a 28 day cycle. I am just so aggressively grouchy that I feel sorry for my husband and my in- laws, who are staying with us through Saturday.
honeydew / 7811 posts
@anonysquire: yeah it's hard after a baby. I got AF back at 6 months but didn't track anything. This is my 2nd cycle TTC #2 technically, but I still don't know when I O or all those details.
@meredithNYC: I'm a cranky-pants too And so tired!

@simplyfelicity: I was just scrolling through this thread a little, and I didn't even realize that you had my name on the Roll Call list! I feel honored! I guess I should chime in more here! I just feel awkward, because I totally feel I really don't even have a POAS day, since I don't even think I'm O'ing!
cherry / 128 posts
@cmomma17: I'm CD 26. Last month it was a perfect 28 day cycle but I'm usually 32 day cycles post baby. So frustrating! I also feel like nothing's happening. No AF symptoms. Nada
honeydew / 7811 posts
@meredithNYC: thanks! Good luck to you too!
@intotheocean: isn't it so boring! I'm feeling nothing too. Which makes me think I'm obviously not pregnant
nectarine / 2465 posts
@simplyfelicity: I ovulated really early (CD11) the cycle after I had a really long (for me) cycle, so maybe that's what's happening to you. And yes, Sunday, AF is due Tuesday. Boobs are sore (they're always sore), pinching cramps (always get pinching cramps) so who knows!
@cmomma17: Lol my dh is the opposite, he's like leave me alone!
@septca: Me too much more relaxed
@anonysquire: Good luck to you! Hope that is implantation and not AF!!

This thread has taken off and I haven't been that active this month. Sorry! I am skimming along, checking in every so often and wishing you all the best though.

@MaryM: I still like our options better.
@kelleeleee: Seriously. Story of my life. I had to learn it for myself but I no longer trust symptoms.

@googly-eyes: How are you doing?
@MrsBrewer: That's super weird! Sorry! I just started taking over the list but I must have mixed something up along the way. Let me know if you want to jump back in. Best of luck!
GOLD / pomelo / 5737 posts
@simplyfelicity: One infection (last cycle) led to another (this cycle) and I'm FINALLY better (like today) and really happy about it, but nothing on the poas front. Not even sure when I should be poas'ing but will be floored if I happen to get a bfp because of all that has gone on with my body (though it happened after the positive opk so who knows.)

Cycle day: 38 (gah!)
Cycle #: 1 (but it was supposed to be 2)
Ovulation & POAS dates: 6/11 (maybe?) & 6/28
Baby #: 1
Your game plan this month: Has been totally shot. May & June were my open window based on work schedules next year.
I'm a bit late to the game, and this is the first time I'm posting. But I figure it might (fingers crossed) be time to throw my hat in the ring.
I went off bc in September and have had regular cycles until this April (of course). May 6 had very light spotting. None of my regular heavy stuff. Figured it was just a weird cycle since I've been told that's normal from time to time. Nothing since then except some cramping and bloating (and a bfn 6/7 just in case I missed something). Yesterday, pretty much out of nowhere, basal temp. drop, lots of cm (this morning EWCM), and lots of breast tenderness. Basal temp spike this morning....so fingers crossed. Not super hopeful because of how wonky this cycle's been. Anyway, I figure it's probably better to start posting here with you ladies rather than annoying the crap out of DH with how nuts this cycle has made me. Cheers Everyone!
