@mrsmcd: I laughed so hard at “bang it out to Mario brothers”
@simplyfelicity: thanks for your encouragement too, I was already in bed when I posted last. We have BD’d a few times this cycle so we might have a shot. I am CD 22 today. I am not temping, doing opk’s or even tracking CM regularly so I have no way to confirm O. Could have been CD 14, CD 17, could have not happened yet! Who knows!
On one hand I really hope this is our cycle. My stepkids arrive Thursday night, and with four people in a two bedroom apartment, we will not have much privacy for the next six weeks. On the other hand I’m trying to stay relaxed, in case this is not our month.
@ Circusbee: congrats!
@marym: so sorry you are out!
@lilyofthewest: fingers crossed for your great timing!!
@simplyfelicity: haha to 100% yuck! Have you thought about trying pre-seed?

And I'm out. Blech. Onto cycle 5.
Good luck to the rest of you ladies.

@Septca: thanks, as always, for the support. No family hx of endo that I'm aware of, but, I'm estranged from much of my family, so, there's lots I just don't know.
My doc and I settled on pain management as if I have endo, but ultrasound prior to any other testing. My pattern, quality and severity of pain is very endometriosis-like. On the other hand, I went directly to moderate-to-severe pain after 16 years of almost complete cycle suppression -- which does not fit as neatly in the diagnostic picture.
Kaiser's usual policy is not to refer for any kind of diagnostic testing related to fertility until you've been trying for >1 year, but, my doc seems very amenable to going ahead with things now from the perspective of diagnosing and treating the pain, fertility concerns considered but not coded. So, that's a relief!
They also would happily have scheduled an ultrasound for me sooner, but, I wanted to wait and hope that I'm knocked up this cycle before forking over an $80 copay for the sono.
I went in to the appointment with a lot of anxiety that they wouldn't take me seriously, but, I was really pleasantly surprised.
Edited to add: My doc also referred me to acupuncture. She said her official reason for the recommendation per Kaiser policy is chronic pain management, but that she also believes it can improve overall fertility. Bummer it isn't actually covered by my health plan, but, am going to give it a go anyhow.

@lilyofthewest: ((hugs)) I did not know I had a family history, either... only shady details of my grandmother's health history and the fact that she had a hysterectomy at 36. During our TTC struggles, I started asking questions and it turns out that every single woman in my family has endo. You've probably heard my story before, but I was suppressing for 11.5 years... about 2 years before we started TTC, I started having mid-cycle pain even on BCP, so I now know that my BCP wasn't enough to truly suppress my endo growth. Once I went off the pill, it got bad fast. After my lap, my doctor sent my endo to pathology and the results were really interesting - basically I have a specific type of endometriosis that my doctor called "turn and burn" - it grows really fast, really aggressively, then burns out fast and leaves a mess of scar tissue behind. That's basically why it's no good for me to be off BCP and not pregnant... and why I *need* to get KU ASAP. No pressure or anything.

This is my sixth day of positive OPK's. Is that normal or weird? Last time I got KU I only took tests until I got a positive opk then I just had a bunch of sex. But now I'm trying to figure out my cycle so this is really weird to me.

@intotheocean: Do you have all the tests still? Can you line them up in order and take a pic?
cantaloupe / 6634 posts
Can anyone make sense of this? Positive dollar store cheapie, negative digital and the test strip for the digital looks all smeared (it does say to not worry about the test strip. ) thoughts?
persimmon / 1121 posts
@intotheocean: I'd say that's pretty unusual. I only get 2-3 days max of positive tests. I agree with @simplyfelicity: Can you line them all up and take a picture? Maybe some of them are just almost positive, and not actually positive yet?
@simplyfelicity: Well the cheapie definitely looks positive, so I would just BD to cover your bases. Sorry I have no experience with digitals, so I'm no help there. This is why I stick with just one kind!

I threw them away! Darnit. I'm just going to go with the flow. Although to my eyes they are darker than the control. My body is so mean

@intotheocean: Sorry if you've already been asked this, but have you taken a pregnancy test lately?

This is my first month with OPKs and i've seen a bit of variety in the darkness, but i'm pretty sure today's is positive. Yesterday was slightly lighter than today
Does this count as positive? It's about equal to the control line, not darker than the control line. If anything it's slightly lighter.
ETA: today is CD17 and i took 50mg of Clomid from CD3-7 and 1500mg of metformin every night

@LaughLines: That's pretty much what my positive wondfos looked like, so I say positive. Good luck!

@simplyfelicity: yes let's push it back...it was a wild guess anyways. so it should be maybe 6/24ish...again guessing here.my cycles are pretty wonky so im glad it seems that I am ovulating
pomelo / 5129 posts
@LaughLines: I'd call that positive.
I wasn't calling it positive before (because the whole line wasn't dark), but my digital OPK went smiley last month when I had one that was half dark like that.

@MaryM: @Aria: Ooo i hope it is! could possibly be the first time i've ovulated in like 12 years (BC + a year of anovulary PCOS cycles)
My doc told me to make an appt with him once i see a positive OPK so i called and am going in tomorrow for them to "confirm" O... not sure how they do that, but i'm excited!

@Aria: yeah I did today. Only had a digital and I've wasted it haha but my period isn't supposed to start until around the 17th.
cantaloupe / 6634 posts
@intotheocean: @Aria: Yeah, it seems so weird that they would give different answers so we will probably BD tonight and then I will test again tomorrow. Thanks!

@cmomma17: I do have preseed, just wanted to see if I could help it along a little more.

Omg I'm so tired of this. I just want my period to come so that I could move onto the next cycle. I obviously did NOT ovulate.

@intotheocean: How many days have you been getting positives?
nectarine / 2465 posts
@simplyfelicity: I would trust the clear blue, the middle one looks like it could be positive but it also looks like it could get a little darker. I would say tonight/tomorrow morning your surge will start
nectarine / 2262 posts
Well, I'm in to POAS in a few days. I think I may have actually ovulated this cycle based on my temps, but it would be really late, like CD 32. I have had super long cycles since getting off BCP. I am not sure if it's even possible to ovulate that late.
Anyway, if I *did* ovulate then, that makes today like 8 DPO. So I will probably test in a few days just to check...
honeydew / 7811 posts
@simplyfelicity: don't know if this helps but I remember reading (maybe in tcoyf), that you could have the perfect amount of CM internally (out of your reach, but in the right place for sperm), even if you're not experiencing a ton externally.
nectarine / 2994 posts
Just checking in to say I'm 9dpo today, trying to wait until 12dpo to test and trying very hard not to get my hopes up.

@KelLeeLeee Thanks! That is what I was thinking, too. How are you doing?

Hey ladies, I've been so busy with work and life and been a total board slacker. Apologies to everyone I've missed out!
@marym @tam @pinkcupcake Sorry to hear you're out for the month!
@circusbee Congrats!!
@simplyfelicity Green tea also helps, if that's less gross to you.
@mrsstar I'm also 9 DPO and trying to hold out to 12 DPO to test. Counting down!
@intotheocean No advice with OPKs I'm afraid. Are you using any other methods to determine o?
@lilyofthewest I bet the acupuncture will do some good. I know a number of people who feel it's helped them, and I have seen a massive shift in my hay fever - apparently linked to bigger systemic things- through acupuncture. Too bad it's not a covered cost! I *dread* having to deal with insurance woes if/when we ever move back to the USA!!
@annette Did you test yet?
AFM, I'm finally about 9DPO over here. I've been feeling some odd twinges since Sunday but I'm trying not to make too much of it. I might always have them but don't pay attention to them like I am now! If we're not successful this month, it's ok since we can try again next month (while on holiday...the extra relaxation has to help, right?) and could mountain bike on the holiday without overthinking it. But of course, I'd prefer this cycle!

@simplyfelicity: Having a really bad week, and hoping that means I get something good in the form of a bfp this weekend, but who knows! I feel the same I do every cycle
@Tam: Sorry Have some fun today!
clementine / 957 posts
@simplyfelicity: could you move my POAS date to 6/28? Cd 18 today and no O yet. Hoping my temp goes up tomorrow. If so, I won't test until that Saturday.
