@marym sorry you're out this time, and FX for you this new cycle!

I just got back from my gyn appt for the painful ovulation and painful periods I've been having.
The exam was less painful than I'd been anticipating -- so that's good even if it was not very helpful from a differential diagnosis point of view.
I left with a referral for a pelvic ultrasound and prescription for mefanemic acid.
I'm still hoping that I get a instead of AF so I don't need to follow-up with either of them. I feel like I'm doing something...so that's good. But, I'd really like for things to turn out such that this was a waste of time and money.
Timing was great this month, so, here's hoping and counting down.

@lilyofthewest: I know very little about temping but your chart looks great! Whatever happens, I hope you get answers. I, of course, hope you get it in the former of a BFP, but any info will help you in TTC. Hang tight, I feel like things will be looking up for you soon.

Okay, so I wanted to do an extra little something to help in the CM department (I am on CD 10) and I am not crazy about using Mucinex when I don't need it so I got some grapefruit juice. I made sure it was 100%. It is, 100% nasty. Yuck.

@lilyofthewest: glad you are being proactive! Have your periods always been painful?
@simplyfelicity: haha it's an acquired taste! I switched from grapefruit juice to whole grapefruits - cheaper and tastes better.
I will be amazed if I am knocked up this cycle, I have been so stressed out the past few days that I can't imagine my body working correctly.

@Circusbee: congrats!
I just started temping/charting again at 10m pp and am excited to TTC late summer/early fall. I didn't Join these boards the first time so look forward to being part of this group.
I'll keep checking in for all the upcoming BFPs until then!

@simplefelicity 100% yuck, you are hilarious!! Haha
Ok ladies I'm having a dilemma, had light spotting sat and yesterday but nothing since about 7pm yesterday. Tomorrow I will be 14 DPO, should I wait and test at 15 DPO or test tomorrow and risk wasting a FRER on a long shot?

so my ovulation tesk kits are looking darker and darker every day... i'm really hoping this equates to a solid month for us. I'll have to share a photo tomorrow
nectarine / 2465 posts
@Annette: Do you have other tests besides a FRER? You are far enough along that you should be able to see a line on a cheapie.
pomelo / 5129 posts
@Annette: I agree with using a cheap test if possible.
I had the same thing happen this month. Call me a pessimist, but I think what helped keep me from getting my hopes up too much too prematurely was using cheapies until AF finally showed up.
Otherwise, I would have been SO sure I was KU and even more disappointed when I wasn't.

@KelLeeLeee: Yes and no. Which is exactly what I told my doc earlier today when she asked that same question. I haven't had more than a handful of natural cycles since I was 15. I used depo for a few years, then pills, then NuvaRing, then had two back-to-back Mirenas. There were a couple instances while I was on pills of NuvaRing that I had one or two natural cycles at a time due to refill problems, but, that's it for the last 12 years.
My periods pre-hormonal contraception were pretty miserable, but, I'd really hoped that was an adolescence thing rather than a permanent thing.

@delight the little imaginary devil on my one shoulder totally agrees with you!! Hahah.
@kelleeleee and @marym good point! I do have a cheapy dollar store test so tomorrow AM it is (unless AF shows first!!)

Update on me is CD1
I am feeling very hopeful for July since I just weaned my son fully. Good luck ladies! I hope to see more BFPs

Sorry for completely ducking out on my hosting duties, had super busy few days/weekend. I also got a little bummed out when one of the girls at the stagette announced she was 10 weeks after we were offering her drinks. It was hard for me to be happy for her and I had to excuse myself for a while to shed a couple tears and pull myself together.
With that said, I've made the decision to not concentrate so hard on TTC and just have fun this summer. I don't want to have to step away from a good time anymore. We will most definitely be TTC/BD EOD, but I've stopped charting, put away the OPK's and HPT's and will be stepping away from HB for the time being.
You guys have been awesome! I really appreciated all the advice and support. This is an amazing community! Good luck to everyone!!!
Big thanks to @simplyfelicity: for keeping the roll-call list in check! I'd love for you to keep it going, if you'd like!

@HellOnHeels: Of course! You do what you need to. It seems like you are due for some R & R. But don't stay away too long.

Congrats @circusbee!
@MaryM: In the past two cycles I've realized I feel the same way. I'd rather test every day starting at 10 DPO than just wait and wait not knowing. I'd rather be falsely disappointed than just keep agonizing and getting my hopes up.

Hi ladies! I'm out - AF showed last night. I'm not too bummed because I expected it after the spotting over the last little while. Good news is that my cycle was four days shorter and AF seems heavier (was previously only one day. TMI - sorry!) so it looks like my naturopath/accupuncture combo is working for me!!
Good luck to the rest of you ladies, I'll still be here cheering you on!!

@lilyofthewest: Jumping in here to ask - do you have a family history of endometriosis? You are describing my experience exactly. If the u/s does not show anything (it would not show endo), press to have an HSG, even if you have only been trying for a few months - that will give you better information about the state of your tubes (tubal blockage is the number #1 way endo messes with fertility) and you can go from there. ((hugs)) Please feel free to ask me anything (I stalk this thread!) if you have questions about my experience.

@Annette: I'm sorry, but I totally admire your outlook and I agree that a win is a win! Best of luck in June!

@sunset840: That's ! Have fun ! Oh and did you want to push back your POAS date?
grape / 92 posts
@simplyfelicity: Supposed to POAS tomorrow morning if AF doesnt show today. Decided not to test until I am actually late this time round, tired of seeing BFN, tested a few days ago and it was negative. So I will wait and see what happens later today.
