@intotheocean: yay!!! you're giving me hope for this month since your cycle seemed so wonky and it still worked out for the best. Congrats!!

Has anyone had nausea as a TWW symptom? last night at 6DPO I got really nauseous at dinner to the point where I had to excuse myself to go to the bathroom in case I threw up (thankfully i didn't, because it was a small restaurant and i bet my boss would have heard...). It could have been a variety of other things, since I flew to London overnight and didn't get much sleep and then walked around all day. But i don't think being tired would have made me so nauseous... it just seems that's a little early for nausea

@intotheocean: Oh my God, hooray! Congratulations to you!

I think I am out. I'm either 11 or 12 DPO and my period is due on Thursday. This morning I tested on a digital and got a negative. It's not over until the period arrives, I know, but I'm not feeling too hopeful

@LaughLines: I do get nausea in the tww unfortunately it hasn't meant anything for me... But that doesn't mean it couldn't mean something for you!

AF is due today, usually it comes first thing in the morning, but nothing yet. I can feel it on its way though.

I took a little break from the board because I want to be more low-key this cycle than last, and I wanted to keep my mind off TTC in the post-AF/pre-O weeks. Excited to check back in and see a BFP! Congrats @intotheocean!

@meredithNYC: I tested yesterday and got a white bfn. Could be early! One of my friends did not get a positive until a week after her period with the early response.
@LaughLines: I had nausea my whole two week wait and cramping. Lol I thought I was creating symptoms.
@Annette: I am a fraternal twin so it's possible! Ahhhh

@intotheocean: Congratulations! That's well worth the wait!

@simplyfelicity: I think I'm only 3DPO. I had positive OPKs Tues/Weds/Fri last week so FF thinks I O'd Saturday. Unfortunately I'm not on summer break just yet... but I hope you are enjoying yours!

@intotheocean: YAY! This is sooooo awesome. Such a great example that anything can happen! Congratulations!
@LaughLines: I'm with @KelLeeLeee, I actually had more symptoms the month I wasn't KU than the month I was. I noticed that I was nauseous last cycle, too, but I think it was just nerves .TTC can be a b*tch. You could very well be KU but I learned the hard way to not scrutinize symptoms...even though it's do hard! GL!

    cantaloupe / 6634 posts

@As Time Goes By: That's a long surge! That's funny because I had positives Tuesday- Thursday and FF things I O'ed Thursday, not Friday. Are you also temping? Hoping the rest of your school year flies by!

  19. As Time Goes By

    apricot / 346 posts

@simplyfelicity: I don't really know what to make of it since Thursday wasn't positive, but I have read somewhere that two surges isn't unheard of. We continued to BD just in case! I'm not temping because I have really inconsistent sleep in the mornings. Sometimes I am wide awake waiting for the alarm, others days I'm tossing and turning, and rarely I'm out cold so I don't know how reliable it would be. If we keep needing to TTC I might give it a try!

    Have you tried temping?

  20. simplyfelicity

    cantaloupe / 6634 posts

@As Time Goes By: Yeah, you got a lot of positive OPKS! I have never temped...I feel like I would get obsessed with the numbers and over analyze them. I like the digital OPKS because there is nothing to analyze.

    @intotheocean: Congrats!!!!!

@As Time Goes By: and @simplyfelicity: Just throwing it out there...but temping actually helps me obsess LESS over peeing on all the sticks. I like having a confirmation that I've Oed (so I stop wasting OPKs even after a surge) and I like knowing to expect AF when my temp drops.

Just a thought. I know everyone is different and different methods help different people, but I can't imagine how much more OCD I'd be without temping!

As for mornings always being different, I set my alarm for earliest I usually get up. Then I set it again for the time I HAVE to be up. Most times I'll go back to sleep.

  23. MrsKRB

    nectarine / 2465 posts

I agree with @MaryM, temping makes me much more relaxed because I know exactly when I ovulated. I usually just temp a couple days before O and up to my temp shift and then stop because I'm lazy

    @intotheocean: congrats mama!!

@onthemove: @meredithNYC: I know you're not out til you're out but I can't help but compare when I was pregnant to now, and I definitely knew early last time (like 11 dpo going by the dates my dr gave me?) Plus all the meds and stuff. Finally healthy now and wishing we could just get to our next chance, which sort of feels like the first real chance.

  25. meredithNYC

    pomegranate / 3314 posts

@googly-eyes: I feel the same way, honestly. Last pregnancy I got a bfp at 11 days dpo, so it's hard not to compare. I'm just going with the "every pregnancy is different" mantra until I get my period. I have some spotting now and I'm pretty sure it's my period rather than implantation bleeding, but only time will tell.

So ladies I believe Aunt Flo is coming and my positive opk I shared with you was one week ago today. What does that equate to a short luteal phase? Just a short cycle? I'm not really sure. Any thoughts?

  27. MaryM

    pomelo / 5129 posts

@sunset840: Is it abnormal for your luteal phase to be that short?

Do you temp to confirm O?

If it's a one time occurrence, I wouldn't worry. Unless you temp to confirm O, I'd probably assume that maybe you didn't actually O

But I would wait for AF to show before reading too much into anything, really.

  28. MrsKRB

    nectarine / 2465 posts

@sunset840: I wouldn't read into it, it might feel like AF but it could be implantation

  29. MrsKRB

    nectarine / 2465 posts

Officially onto cycle 6. I am very surprised that it is taking this long, but not so surprised that it wasn't this cycle. I was so stressed the week after O that I wasn't eating and it would have been a miracle for something to have survived.

  30. sunset840

    cherry / 107 posts

@MaryM: this is honestly my first time using Opks to track at all. I don't temp but I think I might for my next cycle. Af. Symptoms are here though so it seems like that might be it. What do people do to lengthen the luteal phase?

@KelLeeLeee: I'm really sorry. I hope July will be much more restful for you.
@sunset840: Do you normally have such a short LP. Are you just spotting? Could be implantation.
@MaryM: Honestly, I think I am just too damn lazy to temp. I think this month has been great for me, it's the first I have been truly relaxed. I hope I don't have to TTC much longer but this is much more doable than the crazy last two cycles. I really like using the dollar store cheapie and then verifying with the digi OPK. I only used 4 out of the 20 pack. End Monologue.

  34. MaryM

    pomelo / 5129 posts

@simplyfelicity: I think it's less stressful for me because I started charting temps almost three years ago now. I wasn't always as consistent with it as I am now, but I was able to form the habit before adding in the stress of TTC. Now it's like brushing my teeth in the morning. It's just something I do.

But I do have to say, I'm also liking the digi verification of OPKs. I'm getting oddly excited to pull the digitals back out soon lol

    @simplyfelicity: thanks!

I got a today but I'm still hopeful! I've got a feeling about this cycle, let's hope AF doesn't show and prove me wrong!
Either way I'd like to know before friday because we're going to a wedding and I'd like a drink if I'm not KU! So I'll probably test again on Thursday.

@intotheocean: congratulations!!! I'm so happy for you, miracles do happen!!!

@MaryM: if I end up rolling over to next month, I'm definitely breaking out the digi's! The image of that smiley with the duster is burnt in my mind... I'll never look at that stick the same way again!

  39. simplyfelicity

    cantaloupe / 6634 posts

@mrsvdv: Do you buy off Amazon? I got a kit of 20 for $35 and free shipping. Like I mentioned I have 16 left after one cycle. I really hope you don't need to order any, though!

  40. mrsvdv

    apricot / 431 posts

@simplyfelicity: no I got mine at the pharmacy where I work, but they're around €40 for 10 !! With DS1 I used them only to verify, like you. (I had cheap regular ones off Amazon then, but I didn't order those this time because I was forever questioning the darkness of the lines and it drove me nuts!) However I didn't use the digi's this month because I got lazy.. But if I end up working through this box without result, I'll be getting them online!! I figure I can always use the ones that are left over for baby n°3!
