I have a joint sprinkle party next Friday. One of them is having a girl (has a boy at home), one is having a boy (already has a boy).
What's a good gift for a second time mom that isn't too expensive? (~ $30 maybe)

I don't know what they are using, though. I know one of the kids has severely sensitive skin!
And the sprinkle is a surprise, so I can't ask!

Picture books. I'd probably get one for the baby and one for the older child.

I vote gift cards, especially if there's no registry. I feel so bad when I get sweet, thoughtful gifts that I have no use for!

@tororojo: same...
sounds like since you have no idea what the needs are, GCs might be the best option. personally I much prefer GCs for my son because then I can choose what he needs or would really like.
Gap, target, BRU are all good GC ideas.

or just make sure you include a gift receipt and if they are close friends you can also tell them in a friendly way that you would not be offended at ALL if they decided to exchange/return for something more useful
