We have the Bissell Spot Bot Pet- works for both fur and non-fur people carpet disasters.

@autumnlove: we use BacOut - you can get it at Whole Foods or other natural food places. We like it because we don't have to worry about chemicals, with the kiddos crawling around on the ground. It works well with "organic" material - pee, barf, food, etc - but not as well with things like marker, paint, etc.

+1 on folex. We got some blood out of the carpet with that.

Folex is amazing. I was able to get dried dog vomit out of my carpet with no scrubbing.

I tried folex, I think after it being recommend from here, and it has been what has worked the best for us.
