I don't remember having stitches as a child. But I did have them after my total thyroidectomy 9 years ago.

I recently had a robot-assisted laparoscopy (so 3 small incisions) but not stitches. I was glued back together. It seemed strange to me.

I had 14 in my forehead when I was 4 and fell out of bed, 8 when I broke my nose in HS, and I was too scared to ask my doc after labor, but it took about 45 minutes and I know I had second degree tears internally after labor

Only a couple of times (luckily!). I broke my arm my senior year of high school and had two plates and 13 screws put in...also, a lot of stitches... I've also had stitches twice now for my wide local excisions at the dermatologist.

I've only had stitches in my gums when I had six teeth removed. They were fused to my jawbone and wouldn't let my permanent teeth come in. They seem like the would be itchy elsewhere.
