Hmmm maybe whoever made the fradualent charge mixed up the billing and shipping address? Like, they do know your address and meant to enter it just for billing but accidentally shipped it to you too. Is the box adddressed to your dh? Also, did the credit card company cancel the card, or just take the charge off the bill?

That's super weird.

It hasn't happened to me, but it happened to a friend of mine. She got a bunch of stuff from several different companies, the only one that sticks in my mind is ruffle butts

This happened with Kohl's for me. One day a HUGE box showed up at my door from Kohl's. It was a giant ottoman. So I logged onto my Kohl's charge card online and sure enough there were 4 more giant ottomans coming to my house.

Someone had stolen my card information. Ordered a ton of high dollar items. Shipped them to me. They took the Kohl's cash (You get $10 Kohl's cash for every $50 spent) and spent that to get what they wanted. It was a mess.

@Dr. Pepper: Omg, they couldn't buy something smaller?! I mean it's bad regardless, but giant ottomans just add to the annoyance, I'm sure...

@MrsSCB: yes! I was so mad trying to bring them back to the stores. We were able to refuse delivery on two ottomans, and two the company was able to "recall" the delivery. So I only ended up with one that I had to drag in. But they could have ordered jewelry! It costs about and is small.

I would replace that credit card just to be safe. They normally send a new number/card out to you within days.

I had something similar with Gilt- they ordered a $200 sweatshirt to have it sent to my parents house (which was saved as an address on my account). Then after that was ordered they changed the email address and password on the account. I happened to see the email alert about the sweatshirt right away and called Gilt, but it took them a few minutes to find my account since they had changed the email address. I had to close the whole account down. I assume they were trying to make are the credit cards worked and stuff, by completing the order first, then would order what they really wanted.

They definitely have your address as they need it to enter the billing address. Many people will have it shipped to the billing (less suspicious than shipping to another address) and wait to see if delivered and then grab it before anyone who lives there can get it. I used to work in a fraud department for an online company.
