Does anyone have the Stride Rite shoes from Target? I think they are called Surprize by Stride Rite. LO2 needs a new pair of shoes and I was debating getting these but wanted to hear some reviews first!

I looked at them briefly but my kids need wide width and I don't think they come in wide. The materials don't seem like they would be as comfy to me. I know Stride Rite is expensive but in my opinion it's worth it because I can usually get a whole season out of one pair.

We have a pair and they seem very comfortable. She's only been walking a week and a half so I can't speak to how well they hold up but they seem very well made.

We got two pairs of sneakers for my son and they've been great. He wears them pretty hard.... Had them about 2/3 months.

My DD has a pair of the boots. She is obsessed with them and wants to wear them all the time so I assume they must be pretty comfy. She has normal Stride Rite sneakers and the quality seems pretty similar to me actually.

I looked at these and would totally get them but they don't come in wide (which we need). I just watch my email for good sales at Stride Rite. A few weeks ago they had shoes for $24.99 and if you donated a pair of ANY old shoes you got an additional 25% off (you could donate one pair for each pair you were buying). We got DS his sneakers for this size and the next size up for $44.

A lot of the stride rites around here are closing and had 50 % off everything (even sale items)! We scored Sperry's for $12.00 and stocked up in a few sizes of them and sneakers. I know that doesn't answer your question, but might want to check around to see if any stores near you are closing! This is the 3rd one in a 20 mile radius that's going out of business. I think there's only one left now. It's very odd because they're always so busy when I'm there!

@catomd00: Yeah one closed last year and when I got there they were cleared out of toddler sizes.
Thanks everyone, for your thoughts!

We have 2 pairs and love them! Don't have any real stride rites to compare though.

My 3yr old daughter has had a pair for months and loves them just bought my twin 5 yr olds pairs too and they really like them. I'd bought them Sauconys from stride rite at t be end of august and within a month they were wearing away on the bottom the target stride rite have a much better sole. I also feel they run wide since my boys need xw in shoes usually.

I bought my 1year old a pair a few months ago, when he was first starting to walk and they seem to be pretty good. They've held up really well - there's barely any wear and we go to the playground at least once a day.

@ladybee: not sure where you are but if it helps, I'm in Central MD. Just went again today and it was everything 70% off. I got 7 pairs of shoes for under $60!

We have a pair too and they've been great so far! The material feels slightly less thick or plus around the foot part (not the sole) but that also makes them a little easier I feel to slip on and off. I do agree though that SR does have some great sales sometimes so it's worth looking around first. But if you can't find something good quality for a cheaper price (which was our situation) these shoes work great.
