Hi! I'm new here, expecting my first in December. We're starting the intimidating task of looking at car seats and strollers, and I have a question for current parents. I'm a runner and am definitely planning to get a running stroller, likely the Bob Revolution. If I get a car seat adapter, would I still need to get another stroller? (We're likely looking at a Britax B-Safe and B-Agile combo if we do.) I live in a more suburban area than urban and drive a lot, but I will walk the neighborhood a lot and we walk around the farmers market, etc. Thanks!

In your situation, I don't think you need another stroller. When your LO gets bigger you may want to add an umbrella stroller, but you can decide then.

I have a BOB with the car seat adapter. We also have a small stroller that I use at the mall, that's literally the only place. I like having it, but it's not a necessity.

I didn't get my BOB until my LO was about 6 months old but at the time I didn't realize the BOB could be used with a car seat adapter (we used a Snap n Go). Anyway, the BOB is our only stroller now, and we bring it everywhere (very easy to fold up and throw in the back of the car).

@FutureMrsMcK: really? I find the bob to be HUGE heavy and hard to get in the car. Other than that, I love the BOB for jogging and walking around our neighborhood. But it is definitely not our everyday stroller

We have a BOB that we use in the neighborhood and sometimes take it in the car to a trail. I find it bulky and cumbersome for everyday in and out of the car use. It stays open in our entryway. Post delivery, depending on how that goes, you may want something easy and light weight, like a snap and go. I loved our snap and go. It is not necessary though. If you are trying to save money and don't receive it as a gift, then skip it and you will make due just fine. We outgrew the snap and go and now keep an umbrella stroller in our trunk.

I love my BOB and use it everywhere and have no trouble toting it around in and out of the car. The only downside for me I'd the smallish storage area underneath. Some people complain that the handlebar isnt adjustable for height but it fits me well.

Oh meant to say that I didn't use a stroller for first four months. I wore her in the baby carrier.

@meganc888: We have a bob and have used it as a regular stroller but it is a bit bulky. If you don't mind, then go for it. However, it is more convenient to have a regular size stroller too. We started with a snap n go, moved on to the bob with and without the adapter, and then just went straight to an umbrella stroller (maclaren triumph.)

I love our Bob! We don't have another stroller. We use the infant seat adaptor, and if we don't feel like getting the Bob out we wear LO in a carrier.

I'd probably get a snap and go in your case to use for running errands if you don't want to load the bigger Bob in and out of the car.

Ditto on BOB + snap n go. We use the BOB on streets (ie in the neighborhood) and snap n go for inside (stores, dr visits, mall, even some restaurants). The BOB feels huge to me and there's no way I could maneuver it through most of the aisles we push the snap n go through. Plus it's heavy IMO.

I love the Bob and I think you can make it work to have it be your only stroller. That being said, it is a bit cumbersome to get in and out of the car, especially depending on the type of car. Once your lo gets to the toddler stage they may be bothered by the fact that the seat is always a bit reclined, it makes it harder for them to see. I think for most people an umbrella stroller would do the trick at that point. Try loading it and unloading it from your car and see what you think. A snap and go might be a great idea and you can hold of on the umbrella stroller until you feel like you need it.

We initially planned on using our jogging stroller as our main stroller but it was just too big and bulky to lug around. We bought a cheap Graco stroller frame to snap the car seat in for when we run errands and it is much more convenient.
That being said, we would have survived fine with just one, but I think the smaller stroller is more convenient.

Wow, thank you so much for all of the responses!! I really appreciate it. I think we would definitely get a small umbrella stroller when LO is older - I see parents at our crowded market with huge strollers and know it's not for me.

I live in a suburban area, too, and lots of families only use their bob ... Esp. When walking to farmer's markets. I think you'd be fine

Also, just one more thought
I've always found it was easier to shop (for anything but clothes) when dd is in a carrier .. like am ergo or a mei tai ... That way you can use a shopping cart and not have two things to push
