I'm on the same hunt. If it had come out sooner, I would have gotten the Mountain Buggy +one from the get-go. For now, I'm just going to get a used BOB and get a new all-terrain stroller when #2 comes along.

I have a single Bob Revolution SE that I love for jogging... Suspension wise, it can't be beat... Very smooth ride. A bit bulky in the trunk, but we have an SUV so I don't mind. Not too heavy to lift, but I wouldn't call it lightweight like an umbrella stroller. I love my Bob and I have had a lot of strollers to compare it to. Definitely one I don't regret buying.

I also just got a Mountain Buggy Duet (double stroller)... Love the brand so far and highly rec them for their quality, simple design, and all-terrain features. I know you're not looking for a double, but it does ride as a single if you take a seat out and use a "Joey" (additional shopping basket on the side). Amazingly, it's a side by side double that's the same width as one of their single strollers, so size wise, it's "compact" for a single-double side-to-side.... Goes through doorways very easily at only 25" wide... I believe it's only one more inch wide than my Bob. It is, however heavier at 34 lbs.

The MB +One is another good option, but I didn't like how two kids can't recline, but if you aren't thinking of #2 just yet, might not be much of a con for you.

The MB Swift also might be an option for you.. Seems more compact and light than the Urban Jungle.

Phil and Teds ... Have read a lot of horrible reviews on them, but I have a few mom friends with 2+ kids with no issues. They did buy Mountain Buggy a year or two ago.

I don't think you can go wrong with Bob or MB... both are quality brands. Just do "test drives" IRL if you can. Stores should also let you see if a folded stroller can fit in your trunk. If you have a Buy Buy Baby near you... they have the best selection in strollers IMO.

@rachiecakes: i agree that trying out the strollers in your car is a great idea. It sounds like you are leaning towrd MB but i wanted to chime in that our bob, which has been great so far, fits in the trunk of our civic and corolla that are several years old, so your caar might hold more than you think.
