Tonight is our first night at home with little girl. I plan on having her in the rock and play next to my bed. My question is... Am I supposed to swaddle her and then put her in there? She does love agood swaddle. I know they aren't supposed to sleep with loose blankets.. But are they not supposed to sleep in a wrapped swaddling blanket??

We put A in a swaddle, just like the hosp then in pack n play!

We swaddled every night until C was 6 months. She loved it.

That's what I thought... But then I got myself freaked out that she would be technically sleeping with a blanket and I wasn't sure if that was allowed. Thanks guys!

Yup we swaddled securely while he slept but made sure it wouldn't come undone and come up near his face.
And btw I missed it somewhere but congrats!!!!!

We have been swaddling for 6 months!
I understand the confusion about swaddle/no blankets -- I had that question too. The community nurse that came to my home to visit the baby after he was born explained that the official stance of the CPA (Canada's AAP) is no blankets including swaddles -- they recommend just sleep sacks to keep baby warm. I still swaddled, and many do, but that is what I learned about the topic!

i would swaddle her if she likes it. We did, and she slept much better that way.

Congrats! We did swaddle and swing, and I still buckled her in the swaddle, hehe.

We always swaddle her in our rock and play! If it's super cold I put a blanket further down, since she is at an incline and swaddled, it never is by her face
