I gave my 6 month old her first solids/banana last night and she developed a rash around her mouth within the hour. I gave her some Benadryl and it cleared up.
So is this it for banana? Or would you try again in the future? How soon?

I'd wait a few months at least (personally), and I'd ask about it at my next check-up.

that must have been scary. good thing you had the benadryl and it worked.
maybe you could hold off on banana until the next wellness appointment and ask your pediatrician at that time? or call the advice nurse?

I'd call the nurses line at your Ped's office. Maybe they can suggest foods that are less likely to evoke a reaction.

Oh no! I'd try something totally different like carrots, and hold off on the banana since your LO had a reaction. You might even call your pediatrician and let them know what happened, and see what they suggest for next solids to try.

Might ask for allergy testing? I'm so happy we did, it made solids easier
