Yup, bath time was a nightmare until we bought a bunch of new toys.

No personal experience, but my friend's son went through this. She said he acted so scared, so she would suit up and sit in the tub with him. I gifted them some Nemo bath toys and she said he eventually got over it. He just took swimming lessons with us in June and loves water again. Perhaps it's just a phase?

@runsyellowlites: Same. We had no bath toys for the first 13 months and she was just fine! My LO likes the Munchkin letters from Target.

Yes! My 22 month old watched an episode of Curious George where all the bath toys go down the drain, and she was massively freaked out. After a few weeks I've been able to convince her to get in and wash up a little bit, but we're no where near the hours long bath time playing fun she used to do.

I think DD went through an anti bath phase. We just joined her in the bath. Now she loves baths and showers and will chill in the water forever if we let her.

Have you tried going into the bath with her? I make sure to wear a bra when i go in, otherwise she just goes for the boob.

My 22 month old suddenly also hates baths. I have just been dealing with the meltdowns.. But new toys sounds like a great idea I will have to try that. Sometimes blowing bubbles with bubble bath (like California baby bubble bath that comes with the bubble wand) calms him down but it also becomes a source of meltdown too...

my 14 month old started screaming with baths about a month ago. I thought maybe it was because we weren't at our home, we have been visiting family in the States the whole time

Around that time DS hated baths too he just wanted to stand, walk around and would try to get out.
I bought him some bath crayons (he loves to draw) and brought him in the shower with me and now he will go in the shower.
