We are in charge of Christmas day cocktails. I'm not really a cocktail person, so I have no idea where to begin. Suggest or link to a favorite holiday cocktail!

We always have mimosas, with good champagne and fresh orange juice. Otherwise, I'd suggest something with cranberry juice, and use frozen cranberries as ice.

I saw this one a few years ago and still love it! It's really easy to make and I love that you can do it in bulk:

@lamariniere: I saw Bobby Flay make this cranberry orange cocktail this weekend! He muddled fresh cranberries with orange peel/zest, simple syrup and tequila. He added fresh whole cranberries to the cocktail, it was very festive!

I'm going to try an apple cider "mimosa". It's just cider and champagne

If you want a hot cocktail, we love mulled cider with Fireball whiskey and cinnamon sticks!

@Mrs. Oatmeal: This is my favorite holiday drink, though I usually add bourbon instead of fireball.
I also make holiday sangria a lot during the holidays. No real recipe, just include things like apples, cranberries, pomegranate seeds and pears since they're in season.

I made this Clementine Cosmos recipe one year and liked it. We usually go for mimosas though on Christmas morning.

I don't think you can go wrong with a classic french 75! They are SO GOOD. Gin, champagne, sugar syrup, and lemon.

I'd do a champagne/cranberry drink. Or, after dinner we always do White Russians (you could make with egg nog to make it more festive.)

Does anyone have a suggestion for a good juice to make mimosas with that isn't orange juice?

Cold cocktails:
- Cran-Pom juice mimosas.
- Cold apple cider with Fireball and a fresh cranberry floater garnish.
- Add ginger ale to any of the above for non-drinkers.
Hot drinks:
- Hot mulled wine in the crockpot (just add red wine, cinnamon sticks, cloves, sugar, and orange slices and leave on low for 2 hours before the party for a really simple version).
- Hot apple cider in the crockpot with cinnamon sticks and let everyone pour in a shot of whiskey or bourbon or Fireball.

I was just introduced to a "cinnamon toast crunch," Rumchata and Fireball. It's kind of like Bailey's on ice but a little spicier. Good to sip slowly...
