involving snow balls! We're going to have snow balls at DS's 1st birthday for the kids, but our yard is kind of small and rectangular so a traditional run around and have a snow ball fight is out. His party will be mid-July. Can you suggest/make up a game we can do with the kids to make use of the snow balls?

I'd do a bean bag toss type game! Lot's of ideas of different ones on Pinterest http://www.pinterest.com/search/pins/?q=DIY%20bean%20bag%20toss%20game A few are even vertical, to save on space!

I was also going to suggest bean bag toss, you could really do fun stuff with that, like do a snowman with cut outs, make the balls from yarn, etc.
You could also do a snowball stacking activity, if you do flat-ish bean bags, make it challenging by using a blindfold, doing it with one arm behind the back, etc.

Could you have 'igloos' and divide the kids up and then they can hide and jump out and toss the snowballs at each other? The igloos could be decorated cardboard boxes or forts made out of chairs + blankets? That totally depends on the ages of all the kids though... haha.

what about some kind of relay race/obstacle course through the house? wearing gloves? Balancing a snowball on a spoon, throwing one into a bucket/bowl, etc.

@cmomma17: relay race sounds like fun! What about one person puts a bucket on their head or for the younger ones hold the bucket and try to catch the snowballs their partner throws at them? After 5 catches, they switch and whoever gets done first wins?
