We've been using the Cloud B Gentle Giraffe for a while now. I don't like that it cuts off after being on for 45 minutes. We only use the continuous white noise feature. I'm not against having other sound options but they certainly aren't necessary. Oh, & my ipod is on the fritz so that isn't an option right now.
What do you use for white noise?

Right now with just us we are using a fan. When our little dude comes along, we are switching to this:

We have a big $600 IQ Air purifier that we got for $200 on craigslist. It's pretty loud so that will be our white noise machine.

We use a fan. I read that it helps prevent SIDS to have air circulating.

@Happymama: @Sweet T: I also have the Graco sweet slumber, we love it! We have it on practically 24/7. We used to have the sleep-sheep but LO would wake up when it shut off!

WE just started looking into this. We downloaded an iPhone ap that's pretty good and plays through your docking station. You can set the time to whatever you want and the sound quality is pretty good.
But we were reesearching different white noise machines and are thinking about getting this one:

@mrbee: we have this one. I actually have to sleep with white noise, so I got it the year before ds was born for Xmas. We have used it every single day. Now its in ds's room and our monitor transmits some white noise (but we can still hear ds clearly).
I think its definitely worth the money. We've had it for 2.5 years. It does white noise really well. You can adjust the sound slightly, but it is a better white noise than anything else I have tried. Love it!

question...they have some at target that are pretty affordable and they all state that they have a sleep timer. can they stay on? does anyone know? I just don't want to be stuck going in every hour to reset the thing..lol
