What's on your summer reading list?
I'm just about to wrap up the Mortal Instruments series, then I think I'll move on to the Percy Jackson series. I have lots of other options as well, but I think Percy Jackson would be a nice summer read!

@Miss Ariel: Yes! Can't wait for this I love her!
I just finished reading "A House for Happy Mothers" about surrogacy in India (fiction). Really interesting, it had me hooked!
I also just checked out "Fool me Once" by Harlan Coben from the library. Apparently Julia Roberts is making a movie about this book after she was obsessed with the book? http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/books/2016/04/06/harlan-coben-fool-me-once-julia-roberts-jacqueline-winspear-maisie-dobbs-usa-today-best-selling-books/32575815/

I can't remember the last time I read a book! I need to renew my library card but have to do it in person.

@avivoca: @Miss Ariel: I have that book! Glad to hear a good review

You just prompted me to check and see if maybe my library allows online renewals now. They don't but they do have a new elibrary card I can apply for online! It's only for digital items which is all I use it for anyway. Woohoo! Can take up to two weeks but I'll wait.

I'm currently on the first Game of Thrones! I want to read all of them. I also want to read Me before You since I've heard it's good.
Also, how do you all have time to read!? Do you sub reading for watching tv? The only reason I'm reading more is that my regular shows are over. I really only have a 1.5 hours after DD goes to bed for myself.

@abbydabbydoodlebug: I've really cut back on TV. I read when LO is at school and LO2 is napping but with her last day of school being tomorrow that will cut 6 hours of reading out of my week. I read after they are in bed, too.
How are you liking Game of Thrones? @regberadaisy: woohoo!!!
nectarine / 2636 posts
@Bao: I'm about halfway through the first book and I'm liking it so far! I've watched all the episodes and have forgotten a lot of the beginning and so the books have really helped me remember all the details! It's very interesting.

I don't normally take the time to read novels, but I really want to read the Elena Ferrante Neapolitan series--I keep hearing really great things

@regberadaisy: I keep wanting to checkout books at the library but I have like a $10 fine and they only take cash which I never have. So I just don't read as much I want to

@abbydabbydoodlebug: I haven't watched the show either! I'm not up with the times.

@Bao: I just finished it today and I loved it! It's so well written.

I just finished "The summer before the war"- if you like Downton Abbey, it's a similar vibe. World War I era. Very good book.

@abbydabbydoodlebug: I never watch TV so I read in bed right before I sleep. That's the only time I get.

I am on All the Light We Cannot See. It's really good!
@abbydabbydoodlebug: I am going to start Game of Thrones next week! I usually just read for 30 or 45 minutes when I go to bed at night.

@winter_wonder: I just finished it, too. Amazon Prime offer, too? It was a quick read and interesting topic but the ending was so abrupt!

@mrsjazz: yes, from Amazon prime I know, I wanted to find out more about them raising the baby! I also wanted to find out more about the little boy and his education.

@abbydabbydoodlebug: I've been listening to audiobooks on my commute, I miss reading real books but figure I'll get back to it eventually. Listening to them is great and makes my commute fly. I read all of the Game of Thrones books a couple years ago, so good!!
I'm super late to the party but just started Outlander...

A bunch of authors I like have books that either just came out or are soon: Curtis Sittenfeld, Emily Giffen, Richard Russo, Emma Straub and I think MK Andrews, Elin Hildebrand, and Beth Harbison. Most of those fall into chick-lit/beach read categories. For "better" books, I loved Fates & Furies and I'm currently reading Chuck Klosterman's new one.

I just read unbroken (LOOOOOOVED IT!), and I'm currently reading go set a watchman, which is kind of boring, honestly.
Next on my list is The Nightingale.

I just finished (and enjoyed) Modern Lovers. I'm going to read either Rveryone Brave is Forgiven or Bone Gap next.

@KayKay: Oooh, a new Elin Hilderbrand! Thanks for the heads up on this one, hers are my favourite summer reading books! Now I just have to decide whether to read it right away or save it for the cottage....
nectarine / 2210 posts
@abbydabbydoodlebug: I do most of my reading either on my lunch break at work or I'll take a bath before bed instead of a shower to read in the bath. If it's a really good book I might stay up late to read it bed, but that rarely happens.
