Charlie is 2.5 months old, her Dr didn't mention any abnormalities at her 2 month baby well check but a day or 2 afterwards I noticed what felt like a dent in the back of her head. It never goes away, I thought the posterior fontanelle was the least noticeable but in her case it's not. She has normal wet diapers, normal poop, eats normal, act like an overall happy girl. Do you think I should be worried? She doesn't go back to the Dr until December.

Did the doctor do a head exam?

Yes he did, said everything looked great. Problem is I didn't notice it until afterwards.

@StbHisMrs: hm. Maybe give a call and ask? If he did an exam I wouldn't worry too much. Also you could monitor it for a couple days and if it changes, call.

We started noticing something like that around 2.5 months and it actually turned out to be plagiocephaly......the dr brought it up at our 4 month appointment and our LO ended up wearing a helmet to correct the issue.

@wheres_c: Hmm, I'll call her ped tomorrow. She doesn 't have any flat spots, this is like a dent. I was worried her sister hit her, but there was no crying or anything when I noticed it. To be honest it grosses me out, I have a hard time feeling it

I noticed a bump and flat spot on LOs head and he was immediately referred to a pediatric neurosurgeon to rule out Craniosynostosis (early plate fusing). Turned out to be negative, but he did have torticollis which was deemed responsible for both.. My point is that doctors are usually keyed into what's normal and what's troublesome, so it's worth it to call and doublecheck.
