We've been researching sunscreen for the grown ups in our house, and cosmetic working group shows that most of them are pretty bad for you an not that effective. So what sunscreen are you using? Do you like it and is it effective?
We mostly use think baby for the girls which is in the top 10 best rated sunscreens.

honestly, I've been using LO's..haha. I use babyganics on her! DH doesn't really use it. he won't listen to my lectures, either.

@Mrs. Jacks: oh man! yeah, that's expensive. babyganics was $7.99 (or around there) for 6 oz, so I don't mind using it as much.

@Mrs. Jacks: on EWG it is a 2, but the babyganics stick sunscreen is a 1.

I use banana boat natural reflect SPF 50 (it's a kid one, but whatever). I bought it last year because I wanted something with a rating 2 or less & it was, plus they always seem to have coupons/sales on it. It worked well for me (I'm super pale!) so I bought a few bottles last wk end for this summer, Target had a buy 2 get a $5 gift card promo & I had some coupons so it ended up being <$5/ bottle.

I use alba for us and it seems to work fine. Badger for the baby but that's too pricey to use on ourselves!

Physical sunblocks make me break out really bad, so I use Alba, which is a 4 on EWG. DD and DH both use babyganics.

EWG has list of the best sunscreens on the market, it looks like all of them are a 2 or less rating. There are actually 4 options made by Coppertone which would certainly be a less expensive option since they are far more likely to go on sale.
I use BareMinerals foundation (also a 1 or 2 depending on which one you buy) on days where I won't be outside much which is an easy option and limits how much sunscreen I go through.

I've been meaning to look into adult ones actually. I've been using ocean potion anti aging.

we've been using burn out which we discovered through mrs tic tac toe.
it has a 1 rating and i really like it more than the ones we've used in the past (episencial, california baby)

Just wondering if any of the sunscreens people listed are non-greasy? I hate hate hate that greasy sunscreen feeling on my skin, and I'm really pale so I need to use sunscreen everyday in the summer (seriously, I burn to a crisp in 10 min!). I use and love the non-greasy Neutrogena Dry Touch, but it doesn't rate well...

I haven't used Ocean Potion this season yet but my DH HATES the greasy feeling too and I don't believe OP is greasy.

We use waterbabies on LO, and it is a 2. We found that it works really well.
I prefer the Target brand spray. Its a 7 
It does keep me from burning much better than any other brand, so honestly, I'll probably keep using it. The risk is much better than constantly being sunburned

dh uses coppertone sport, a 5. we uses babyganics on ds. i try to just cover up or use ds' if i remember to put it on

@yoursilverlining: I second this question-- I hate the greasy sticky feeling of a lot of sunscreens especially if I'm just walking around, not actually at a pool or beach.
Also-- does anyone get a reaction on their face to a lot of sunscreens? I pretty much can't use any traditional chemical sunscreens that I've tried-- it makes my skin and eyes BURN, even if I don't get it anywhere near my actual eyes. I can use Olay regular moisturizer with spf 15, or I've bought baby physical sunscreens, but they are heavy and make me so shiny! Any of these seem like better options with those specifics?
