I posted about this last summer but revisiting because I still haven't found a great solution! Chemical sunscreens flare up LO's eczema. But we've tried multiple mineral sunscreens including Vanicream and they are so hard to apply evenly and I don't think they work as well. (Consumer Reports agrees.) Not to mention the chalky cast is horrible on her lovely dark skin. We are going on a beach vacation next week and I think we need to try a "regular" sunscreen but I am so nervous about what to pick. Any suggestions from moms of kids with sensitive skin?

Blue Lizard Sensitive and Burnout don't irritate my LO's skin and provide great protection.

My LO's eczema isn't bad anymore but she and I both have sensitive skin and really like Jason brand natural sunscreen and she's also never had a reaction to Neutrogena baby sunscreen (though it's a bit chalky) - or the dry touch one.

Lo breaks out from most sunscreens and has a few eczema patches that get worse but so far so good with blue lizard sensitive this year.

Neutrogena Dry Touch is what we have been using this summer.

I loooove honest co sunscreen- it's mineral and easy to apply. We used it for 2 weeks in Hawaii and not one burn.

@youboots: I am kind of done with mineral sunscreens right now! Haha. We're using Thinkbaby which is the best of all the ones we've tried. It's still so hard to rub in, looks crazy white and I don't think it works very well.

@youboots: I read horror stories about the honest co sunscreen, people with horrible burns like they weren't wearing anything at all. Scared me too much to even try it. But sounds like it worked fine for you guys.
@daniellemybelle: I know you said you are done with mineral, but we use alba botanica usually and I don't find it too hard to rub in. Much easier than the Blue Lizard I tried first- it was ok on my very fair LO but if I tried to put it on me it was obvious how white it still was. I ordered thinkbaby to try this summer but haven't used it yet.

Our LO has mild Eczema, we use California Baby extra sensitive sunscreen and he does well with that.

I have super sensitive skin and use Neutrogena Dry Touch as well. It is usually in the travel size section if you'd want to try that before comitting to a whole bottle.
My niece had allergic reactions to every sunscreen as a baby besides the brand NO-AD.
My LO has eczema as well. We've only used generic water babies on her and it hasn't seemed to bother her.. but I'm subscribing just in case it starts to...

We had a super bad flare when we used this and not a single problem. https://www.burnoutsun.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=4 We made the mistake, before putting this on, of using one that was alcohol based. Sooo painful for poor baby! This one didn't give us any problems, but we did make sure to wash off nightly and give our usual good coating of lotion. Successfully stayed sunburn free recently on an almost two week vacation. @daniellemybelle:

I came to say ThinkBaby, but saw that's what you're currently using. Both my boys have bad eczema, and it's the only one that doesn't bother them. While it does look chalky, they haven't gotten a burn yet.

Would you be open to a sunscreen with Mexoryl? I use a facial one by LaRoche Posay that I get at CVS and I am wondering if it's worth a call to your ped to ask about.
