For people who swaddle, do you still swaddle when it's hot outside? I'm trying swaddling for pretty much the first time tonight and our room is really warm. Do you still swaddle in warmer weather? Any tips for me?
Thanks!

Mine never really took to swaddling but when we tried he was only wearing a diaper (August baby). We eventually put him in long-sleeved fleece sleep sacks with just a diaper, and he co-bedded. I never felt he was too warm.

@FutureMrsMcK: thanks! I've mostly been letting him sleep on me, because its the only way I can get sleep, but I need to get some real sleep. He makes me too hot and I worry about him falling off of me. He hates his bassinet. Even swaddled right now he's fussing.
Kid sleeps great during the day and hardly at all at night. Ugh.

@.twist.: aw, I'm sorry to hear that! We ended up moving our bed and co-bedding because E would only sleep on or curled up next to me...for naps too! It was the only way either of us got any rest! I hope you manage to get some real sleep soon!

@FutureMrsMcK: thanks! I'm worried if I start letting him sleep with me he'll never sleep in a crib. Haha
And my husband can't sleep with all his grunts and squeaks so I end up with Lukas on the couch so that dh can sleep. One of us needs to be fully rested.

A was born in early June and we just use Swaddle Me blankets with only a diaper underneath.

It's crazy hot here but we have the a/c going...even so, our bedroom gets warm. We just have her in a onesie and have been trying to use swaddles that are lighter... Like a half unzipped woombie or an a&a blanket.

We swaddled throughout last summer. If it was really hot she would wear just a diaper underneath. Usually, we would swaddle with her wearing a onesie.

I had a may baby last year. And the first 4 weeks he slept in his car seat with either just a onesie or diaper. After we got him out of the car seat he would be swaddled in a diaper or onesie

@.twist.: Well, FWIW although it took 6 months of co-sleeping E transitioned to his crib beautifully, and will rarely sleep anywhere else now (even when I'd WANT to co-sleep). Course that doesn't matter if you're wanting him in a crib NOW (which I can empathize with--it worked out well for us but co-sleeping wasn't my first--or second--choice.)
ETA: Just read the noise part. I was lucky, E could scream and D would sleep through it, lol.

Ah, thanks for all the tips! Unfortunately we don't have a/c, so I may have to try a fan. However he's been passed out for 3.5 hours straight in our bed. So.... He might end up here tonight.
@FutureMrsMcK: well, it's encouraging that E transitioned easily, I think we may have to try it. DH even suggested it because of how well he's sleeping right now!!

We would just swaddle her in a diaper and nothing else. Good luck, it gets easier!!
