We go to a local place and it's $154 for once a week classes for about 8/9 weeks. She goes in the early afternoon but they have classes all day (and it's an indoor pool so heat and sun aren't an issue).

We go to the Y. It's about $55 for 8 lessons if you're a member ($15.95/month for a youth membership). It's $110 for community members. They are 30 minute lessons once a week. Ours are Saturday mornings.

They also have week-long sessions where it's one week, every day. I think the cost is similar and each lesson might be 45 minutes?

$38 for 6 weeks. They are Saturday AMs, 45 minutes at our local aquatic centre

We have done lessons at the Y, with our city, and at a private swim place.
The Y was the cheapest but absolutely useless. We quit after 2 sessions.
The city did a good job and was relatively inexpensive but we moved.
We now go to a private place. It's $95/month for weekly 30 minute classes. I wish they were more frequent but we cant afford that!

DS is enrolled in a group swim class, $94./mo for one day a week. We are thinking of putting him in private lessons which would bring it to 142./mo. It's a chain.

We have had really good luck with the accelerated program at the Y where we go everyday for a week. DD1 has made huge gains doing it that way compared to once/week for X weeks. We also don't swim much in between those lessons, so that's probably why they are $45 for 5 40 min lessons.

Darn- why are my lessons so expensive? Oh right, I live in the tri-state area!

We do lessons with a group that rents out the pool from a few different local hotels. Right now we are doing a 5 week session - 1 half hour class per week. The prices are based on the child's level and number of kids per instructor. My younger is in the parent/child class which is $60 and my older is in the next level up which is a max of 3 kids per instructor and is $100. He is about ready for the next level which is $95 for 5 weeks but classes are 40 minutes. We did lessons at the Y too but I much prefer this group so I'm willing to pay more.

I've seen $25 per class for a local place.

There is a company Swim Safe that utilizes LA fitness pools and they charge $65-$75 per month for once a week classes. We tried a free class and the babies liked it.

The local YMCA is not that close to us so I haven't looked at prices.

$75 for 6 Saturday lessons (45 min each), provided by a community organization and held at a private nursing home pool.

We live in the suburbs and take lessons at the a community pool run by the city. Sessions are by the month and we go twice a week for 30 minutes - so 8 lessons cost about $50. They do a great job.

It's a private lessons place and it's $80/month for one 30-minute lesson per week.
