Anyone have any advice on taking care of kids when you're sick? I can barely keep my eyes open today, I was up coughing all night. If I had a job, I would definitely be calling in sick.
Any tips? Commiseration? My plan is just a lot of TV.

Trying to take care of kids when you're sick is the worst. On the really bad days I have had to ask DH to stay home. But I realize that isn't always an option. Screen time helps if your kids like it. And just pray the day goes by fast until DH gets home. Hope you feel better soon.

Lots of screen time, napping while she naps, and letting her destroy the living room while I lay on the couch are the things that get me through the day.

@jedeve: I feel you. I've been super sick since Friday and I'm still really run down, not sleeping well. I don't have kids yet, but taking care of DH while pregnant and sick is not easy. I have to get him up in the AM, make all the meals, do all the chores, and help him shower at night. I didn't get the grocery shopping done til last night when I normally do it in Sat. I would let the chores go til the last minute and try to get yourself a nap when the kiddos nap (if they do, I hope!). Feel better.

When I was really bad with morning sickness and puking a lot I would literally ply her with TV. Then the iPad. Then TV Other things were doing things together where I could lie down on the floor, like rolling a ball to each other or colouring or playdoh.

TV. I'm not ashamed to admit it. Then once I'm feeling better we have to detox him off of it, lol. I WOH though so I'm lucky in that I get to go to work! I don't think I could manage being sick and watching a toddler all day.

I agree with TV if it keeps your LO occupied. Or maybe hanging out in a room and closing it off so you can lay down and let your LO play whatever they want, even if it means destroying the cleanliness for a couple days.
Hope you feel better soon! *hugs*

I echo above -- aaaaaaall the screen time. It won't kill them and it's better for mama to get healthy quickly then to burn out trying to do everything when you're sick!

I go to the doctor and get to the root of the problem, if I am sick I am miserable and I need to bust out the big guns. It seems it takes me a lot longer to get back to normal these days too, which I can't afford!
