My oldest will be 4 next Friday, but she's already hitting that personality shift. Last night left me completely drained and speechless. Please, share your 4 yr old experience... good and bad!

Threenager was like a rollercoaster of changes from baby to big boy. He was learning to talk and figure out preschool, etc. I remember his first day of preschool he was snuggled in the teacher's arms sucking his thumb when I picked him up.
Now he's jumping off chairs and throwing toys....
Maybe it's the confidence that comes with that huge learning year? And, 'how far can I push it?'
J comes up with some things that make me shake my head. The other night he piled all his stuffed animals in front of the bathroom door while DH was showering. I asked him what he was doing and he said, "Daddy's going to see this and he's going to FREAK OUT!" I couldn't help but laugh but that he intentionally came up with this little scenario to "freak out" DH definitely made me think!

@rachiecakes: LOL I do see W doing some of those things and it's cracking me up. But the outbursts over the past few days and the "I don't care" attitude have this (already-high-strung) momma struggling not to lose her $h!t. lol

We struggled with 3, and I was afraid that the stage would never end. Luckily once he turned 4, life has been much better for all of us. It's like he flipped a switch, and he is pleasant for the most part. We have our issues, but it usually resolves itself.

4 was the easiest yet for us. There were definitely some sassy moments when he thought he knew it all, but overall 4 was great!

@lamariniere: Thank you for saying that! It gives me hope
there are some Moms in my little group who love to tell everyone how every year just gets worse and worse until they move out!

I'm so hoping that 4 is better than 3 years old. This morning, we had whining over cupcakes outside that don't exist. He woke up talking about cupcakes outside. I texted my husband asking about it. He didn't have a clue. I feel like the worst parent these days because all he does is whine and push, push, push boundaries. I can't wait for him to relax about the basic life stuff like getting dressed and getting food instead of near constant whining.
