We have EBF for 7 months and to be honest, the only time sex is inturrupted is because we're exhausted! We didn't wait long to fool around and we waited about 8weeks to do the deed because I was scared it would hurt. We still engage the girls - maybe not as fully as before but we haven't had any milk to face issues. Hubby and I did talk about that but he siad he was ok with some leakage. Also, invest in copious amounts of lubrication! Seriously. Lots and lots of lube. I'm not sure how it has worked out for others but DH and I have found that our sex life is 'hotter' now than it was pre-baby! I did not expect that!

@maybebaby: yep! there are some cute nursing bras out there you can invest in for sexytime but I just wear my regular ones.

I EBF and so far haven't had any leaking problems during sex (although DH understands and has accepted that it can and might happen). If it's even remotely planned I'll pump beforehand. The girls still come into play, but perhaps not as aggressively as before...but they're more sensitive, so even the minimal stimulation they feels like a whole lot more.

We waited until about 3 months pp to have sex, and it took a try or two before I was actually able to do it (but I had some stubborn tears that took a while to heal). I actually haven't needed the lube past the first or second try, but I know that EBF can cause dryness--I've just been lucky there.

Off-limits, I wear a nursing tank or bra during. I miss them.

I nurse DD at night before she goes to bed and sexy time is usually an hour after that so we have had any incidents either.

They aren't part of it for us, but I don't typically wear a bra anymore.

Off limits! I'm in a bra and tight fitting tee during sexytime! I don't want anything from them to wreck that time together, so we will do without until weaned!

@maybebaby: lol I was thinking "hmmm this might be TMI buuut Im gonna say it." Yeah. I mean, dont have him latch on and suck lol. But playing and gentle stuff is ok. It really wasnt a big deal for us

We haven't really had any issues and I'm still breastfeeding at 8.5 months. There haven't been any milk to the face incidents and they do still get sucked on, which hasn't been an issue as far as I know. Sometimes they're a little more sensitive, but sometimes that can be a good thing.

Breastfeeding kicked my libido into high gear for whatever reason, and I have also found post ban sex to be the best of my life. When I'm awake, haha. I've rarely had issues with leaking or letdown during sex, and they're by no means off limits, sucking included. My husband doesn't mind even when it did happen, so we'd just laugh about it.

We haven't changed how my breasts/nipples get handled at all during sex. My DH was a little intimidated by them the first 1-2 times out, but by about 7 weeks PP (1 week of sexy time) we were back to doing everything we normally do (sucking included). As long my breasts are empty there is no real risk of spraying, and if he has gotten the odd drop he has never said anything about it.

@HabesBabe: I get a little paranoid that milk will come out, but I figure that's more his problem and he knows the risks

For me, I don't like them being handled as much now that I"m BF'ing. My nipples are sensitive (in a bad way) and mentally its just weird to me now. I will let him handle them, but ask that he not touch or lick my nipples. He doesn't mind the potential milk thing and he loves them because they are a lot bigger, but to me they are a "mom" item right now so it kinda makes them not so sexy in my mind!

Have you asked your husband how he feels or expects to feel about it? I've always known that my husband finds pregnancy and Breastfeeding beautiful and sexy, which really helped my confidence about it. If he has weird feelings, you may be able to work them out in advance, or at least work out coping strategies.

And do take heart - lots of women have great sex while Breastfeeding, even though difficulty is common too.

My husband likes that they sometimes leak on him. He doesn't really suck on them, but does squeeze my nipples sometimes to get them to spray a little. It doesn't do anything for me, but he likes it.

He is very supportive of breastfeeding because it is natural and what is best for the baby. We both tried my milk, out of curiousity, but the only person in this household that drinks it is the baby! It is nicely moisturizing on the skin though, and has antibacterial properties. Leaking breast milk on your partner is not for everyone, but for me/us, it's not a big deal.

Our sex life has always been rather vanilla. I don't think a little boob play is a big deal. I was always small chested and not into boob play, so it's nice to finally have something sizeable to play with, and he's enjoying my letting him play with them.

I agree with previous posters who said sex got hotter post baby even while EBF. After we got through the initial discomfort PP we just use some extra lube when I'm drier. I don't wear a nursing bra during. DH generally knows (or can see which side is more full and doesn't suck or touch that one as much. We had one funny incident where he got caught up in the moment and got a taste but we just laughed about it. We have had times where I leaked but DH has never been put off by it. For me there was just something in having a child with him, having him be a part of the blood, sweat.and tears (literally) of childbirth that really brought the intimacy of our relationship to a new level that carries over into the bedroom too.
