We bought a side-by-side and I felt strongly about it...I liked the idea of having the kids sitting beside each other.
Do you have or are you considering a tandem or side-by-side?

I am leaning towards the mountain buggy duet, it's a side by side but very narrow. I haven't pulled the trigger yet because it's pretty pricey!

I am leaning towards a side by side too. This way they can talk and interact.

We went tandem. I liked that it didn't take up any extra space to go from 1 to 2 kiddos.

We got a tandem because the side-by-sides we "test drove" just felt really wide and cumbersome.

I've had both. Tandem can get uncomfortable to turn (depends on seating options and weight distribution though). So when we had a tandem in a walking city where we walked everywhere, it didn't work out so well for us in the end (as far as longevity). Perhaps it would have if we had some of the newer and bigger tandems though.
We currently have a MB Duet, side-by-side, and love it.... Very narrow for a side-by-side. If we had more space, I'd get a Bob double (side-by-side).

If I had twins, I would absolutely go for a side-by-side. But for two kids close in age, I much prefer a tandem. I have very little room for stroller storage, so it made more sense for us to get a stroller that coverted to a tandem double so that we could use it as a single for LO#1 and then easily covert it to a double when LO#2 makes an appearance. That way I didn't have to buy two strollers. FWIW, we have the Britax B-Ready and I LOVE it.

side by sides tend to fold up easier which is essential for city living. definitely prefer a side by side!

@SAHM0811: Mind sharing more info about your MB duet? Does it fold easily? Fairly heavy? I am guessing you would recommend it

I'm trying to hold off for as long as possible. Will probably go with a side by side.

We plan to get a side by side. I think the one that @Mrs. Bee: has!

Side by side! My toddler likes sitting next to her sister!

Tandum for us. We liked that you could have the kids face each other. The side by side would be hard to get into stores with. We would have loved a side by side but one of us would have to wait outside while the other ran into the store.

@Rubies: we have a Britax b agile double for our twins and LOVE it!

I loved the idea of having kids face each other, but we ultimately went with side by side.
I have two side by sides, a Jeep umbrella one and a more sturdy Britax, and we've had no issues with either fitting through doors at stores. There is a minimum width that commercial buildings have to have for doors, so we just made sure any double stroller we bought was narrow enough.

We also chose a tandem (Britax B-Ready) so we can use it as a single if we needed to divide up the kids (we currently have a B-Agile).
