Teacher Appreciation is right around the corner (first week of May). Have you given it any thought yet? How will you be appreciating the teachers in your life?

Our Pre-K teacher is due with her first child the first week of May! So it was suggested that we show our appreciation early at the year-end celebration next week. Yup our Pre-K is celebrating the end of school a month early because the teacher doesn't want to miss out (and I totally understand!).
But now I'm scrambling to get her a gift to show our gratitude and a baby gift at the same time.

Oh thanks for reminding me! I've only gotten the teachers something for Christmas so I would like to do something small for them!
I barely talk to them (I don't do drop off/pick up) so I have no idea what they like

@snowjewelz: Always a safe bet and the teachers always seem to appreciate it.

The PTA at the school where I teach preps an amazing buffet lunch. Seriously! These moms are gourmet cooks (or they have hired personal chefs). Steak, sushi, chicken, various salads, BBQ ribs, and a full dessert buffet as well. Omg, so good.

Yup! Will be putting together a bag of goodies for them. Sort of like a breakfast/snack pack. Homemade muffins, granola bar, small thing of OJ, some chocolate and a GC.
I found a cute printable for a bowl of fruits to leave in the common space for the whole center.
This week we're celebrating the week of the young child so I'm putting together a small movie pack for the main teachers. A redbox code, bag of microwave popcorn, chocolate/candy bar, packed in a popcorn tub.

I found a bracelet that I really like on etsy that I think is subtle.
I'll be getting these for the Pre-K teachers with the cord being the school color.
For the daycare teachers, I'm not sure yet. LO2 has been with these two teachers since October and they love her.

We will do Target or Starbucks gift cards and I will make a cake or cupcakes. I guess in our area it is unusual for daycare parents to do anything as we were the only family last year, and will probably be the only this year.

@regberadaisy: I love these ideas! @Alba4: I might have to organize this one too!

@snowjewelz: I did the same thing last year and it went over very well! I even put it in a brown paper bag...like a school lunch! @808love:

As a teacher, a personal note about what the teacher has done that you appreciate always goes a long way! (And it's free!) And when in doubt, a Target gift card never fails either.

Bumping this thread since teacher appreciation week is here and we haven't gotten the gift cards yet. Do you typically spend as much on the teachers for teacher appreciation week as you do during the holidays in December or do you spend more/less now?

@autumnleaves: I'm spending much less! Just a note and a small giftcard.

@Alba4: hee hee. My first thought was, fooooood. Man, we teachers love to eat. Two of the schools where I work have a pretty well organized PTO, and they do a little something for teachers every day.
@atoz: yes! I still have those from years ago.
