LO is nearly 6 months old and has been teething for a month and a half. I check every day for teeth ANYWHERE in his mouth and nothing. We have an arsenal of remedies/medications/teething toys for him but teething has turned my sweet boy into what my DH and I have lovingly termed "bipolar baby." He goes from happy to angry in mere seconds and his sleep has gone from just okay to super terrible. I feel so bad for LO and I'm not sure if there is anything else I can do. Is this normal?? When will these darn teeth show up?

Definitely normal. DD was actually teething starting at 4 months, confirmed by her Dr but she didn't actually cut her first teeth until 1 year.

Well that makes me feel a little better lol. I just wish he felt better. He tugs at his ears a lot but ped said no ear infection. Guess we're playing the waiting game

Yeah, unfortunately that is normal! With our LO it was bad on and off - then right before the 7 month mark we had 3 days of nights of absolute hell where, strangely enough, he wasn't even displaying any of his common teething symptoms, he was just fussy, not sleeping/eating, and obviously in pain. On day 3, he hit the 7 month point and two teeth popped through!

My LO has been teething on and off since 2.5 months but at 5 months we still have no sign of teeth.

DD started showing signs at 2.5 months and didn't get any until 8 months. But drool drool drool!

R took over a month and a half for her last one broke through.

Thanks ladies! Hopefully I can just continue to keep him comfortable until I finally see some teeth! For now I'll keep warning family and friends about his wonderful mood swings

Ugh I don't want to read this! C had some symptoms last week but didn't seem in pain, but this week she has been screaming at bedtime every night, up extra times at night, and yesterday and today seemed like she was in too much pain for her last nap evening. I don't want her to go through this for a month! (Nor do I want ME to go through this for a month).
Fingers crossed they both pop out soon and go back to their happy selves.

We, too, are still playing the waiting game at 6 months... Still no teeth, though this poor baby has been gnawing everything in sight for at least 2 months now. At least we're in good company!

My DD's been teething since early September when she was four months old. She's eight months old now and....no teeth!

E started showing signs for his first teeth at 4 months, they didn't pop through for 6-8 weeks. For the next set it took even longer (he got 6 in at once).

@foodnerd have you tried hylands teething tablets? Those seem to be working better for my lo. Distraction also helps lol

@Mamadee: I haven't tried hylands yet- gonna get that and the boiron Camilia that I read about on here tomorrow. Distraction works great during the day but the poor thing can't fall or stay asleep at night. Even rubbing her comes and rocking wasn't working so trying to nurse her down now.

@foodnerd I've had to nurse lo down every night. I hope I'm not creating bad habits. He doesn't normally sleep well anyway.

Yeah, that sounds like month #5 for us, rough! Nothing actually came through until right at 8 months. We got an amber teething necklace and that helped considerably.

Normal! Dd was teething for probably months before we saw any teeth! She finally started getting them at 8 months!
