I have a job interview in North Carolina next week and it would be a huge jump in my career path. Huge. My profession is very location driven and there's not really any way for me to move up in our current location. DH is very interested in the move as the area would be great for his career as well.

We have a FANTASTIC urban family here. My best friend of 16 years, her husband and kids live here. My current boss and her family are close friends. I went to grad school in this city and have lots of friends. Two book clubs. A life. But I hate how fast the city is growing and and don't love it like I used to.

NC looks great. Raleigh-Durham is about half the size of my current city. We could live out in the country in a nice house (and pay less than we did for our house here) and still only be 20 minutes from work. There are seasons there, which I miss. I hear it's great for kids as long as you avoid the Durham schools. It's closer to my family (12 hour drive as opposed to 24 from here). I have close friends in DC, which is only about four hours away.

Add into all this that I'm six months pregnant and we'd have to move during maternity leave. Poor LO1 would have to adjust to a new house, new day care AND new baby sister. Oh, and starting over friend-wise at 40 just sounds like a lot of work. I just don't know what to do. I may not get the job and won't have to decide, but of course that's not what my mind is fixated on.

Anyone else done this? Contemplated this? Advice?
