We cloth diaper at home but use disposables at daycare. If we cloth diapered at daycare, I would want a larger stash. We do diaper laundry every other day or so. It hasn't been a big deal at all. In fact, DH usually does it. We start a load before she goes to bed and it dries overnight. We use disposable liners and they are super cheap but they don't save you from washing them, really.

We just do a cold rinse, hot wash, then dry

We cloth diaper and both work outside the home. The laundry worried me a bit at first but just 4 months in I already realize that little guys create a lot of extra loads regardless of doing cloth diapers! We use bg4.0 pocket style and the dry the inserts in the dryer. We hang the pockets to dry over night but they really only take a few hours. Laundry happens every other night with our stash of 22 but we typically have a few clean left.

We both WOH FT and have done cloth for the past two years! The sanity saver for us was going down to washing twice a week--Wednesday and Sunday. It is a little hustle to get dipes on the line in the morning before work but it is doable. We did switch to disposables overnight once she started waking up wet on cloth. Daycare was on board with cloth but preferred disposables for nap after she wet a few nap sheets during a growth spurt when her legs were too skinny.

It is work, but it is doable and we are now so in the routine that I don't really think twice...although I am looking forward to potty training!

We both work 40+ hrs per week outside of the home, plus I have a 1 hour commute each way to work, and we cloth diaper successfully! Throwing diapers in the laundry and hitting a couple of buttons on the washing machine is pretty easy. Folding diapers takes some time, but I usually do that in front of the TV in the evening or while DH is reading DD stories before bed. We cloth diaper at daycare too, which works great for us!

We had a nanny while I worked when X was 3-7 months old. We were pretty up front with saying "don't say yes to the job offer unless you're ok with cloth diapering." Not much convincing necessary when you're that upfront-- so I can't help there. We used gDiapers (which worked very well with our skinny boy).

Our system was pretty straightforward: rinse dirty cloth insert with a sprayer right into the toilet, drop insert in lined pail, wash in hot water (heavy soil setting) with an extra rinse, using a small amount of fragrance free/dye free detergent (per manufacturer directions), and dry. I stripped every once in a while, too, but had no issues-- it was just preventative. In total, I spent waaaaaaaaay less hands-on time dealing with diapers than I did washing pump parts (+ packaging/prepping breast milk, etc) every day. I think some people can go really crazy with cloth diapering doing all sorts of extras and buying all sorts of extras. It doesn't have to be that complicated.

AND-- when you run out of clean ones, you can pop a new load in the washer in your pajamas before you go to bed. What do you do if you run out of disposables? If you can't send DH to the store for more, you have to trek there in your pajamas while lugging along your screaming 6 week old. Ugh. No, thank you.

I really didn't feel like dealing with cloth diapers was that big of a deal. My husband didn't like rinsing off the poo-- it wasn't enjoyable for him at all, but he was committed to it for the sake of the environment. I honestly felt it was more convenient than disposables, so I didn't mind at all.

I assumed we couldn't CD because we would be sending LO to daycare. I only asked one center if they allow CD. They said they allow it but they have only had a few CD kids.

We both WOH and cloth diapered successfully full time (center-based daycare). We did diaper laundry three times a week and usually would start a load right after getting home and it would be ready for the dryer before we went to bed. We'd stuff any pockets the following night if needed right away or would wait for the weekend (we had a sizeable stash so as C got older we had a little more wiggle room in how many diapers we needed every few days). Our daycare was on board and just stuck them in the wetbag I brought every day.

I WOHM and we successfully cloth diaper. We have a large enough stash that we normally only wash 1 during the work week (Monday nights normally). My washer can be set to do all the cycles so all I have to do is set it walk away and 2 hours later either hang or put the diapers in the dryer.

Also my in-home daycare does CD for us, she just takes off the diapers and throws them in a wet bag with everything in it, no rinsing etc. Most centers are required to, I believe.

@NorCalWayfarer: I actually just counted we have 35. I should add that I work Monday-Thursday so I normally wash Mondays and Fridays.

We both work full time and CD-ing has never been a problem. Granted, DS doesn't go to daycare (he goes to grandma-care lol), so we don't have that issue. As far as washing goes, I just put in the load right when I get home from work and it's done before bed. It's really no big deal.
