Hellobee Boards

I woke up at 8 and was at work with a latte at 9. I worked until 1:30 then stopped by the grocery store on my way home. I ate lunch and then met lawbee and her LO for froyo around 3:15. Then I ran home and changed into nicer clothes and met my clients at 5 to finalize their contract to purchase a home. I stopped by Half Priced Books to look for something for DH's birthday and had no luck so I'm about to go to Barnes and Noble. When I get home I'm going to cook and do some straightening because BIL is spending the night with us tomorrow. I'm also looking forward to a glass of wine.

Woke up at 3:30 to feed LO and then pump. LO up at 6:30 but dh got up with her. DH woke me up to watch her at 7:40 when he had to get in the shower. She was napping so I got to eat breakfast and have coffee! Had an awesome day with her where she actually stayed on a rough 3 hour EASY schedule. And no battles over food so far today! (First in over a week...) Friend came over to meet LO and hung out from 1-5. Got lots of catching up done, got to take a walk outside in the gorgeous weather, and got to pump in peace while my friend played with LO. All in all a pretty stellar day so far

1:30 I finally fall asleep, thanks to knee and hip pain
5:08 E woke up
5:09 I kicked D until he got out of bed (our current deal is D handles any wake-ups before 6)
5:32 E wakes up again, but falls back asleep. I don't.
5:55 E is up for the day (his normal up time is 7ish).
7:20 Leave the house
7:45 Drop E off at daycare
8:05 Get to work
8:30-5 Try to manage a ridiculous amount of cranky clients who had to wait a long time to see anyone because we're short staffed. Had some fun with my coworkers.
5:25 Pick E up
6: Get home. Try to feed E black beans and rice. They get thrown on the floor. No energy to fight, so I give in and heat him up some homemade freezer meatballs. He also downs 2 bananas, 3 packets of applesauce, a half a cup of blueberries, a hunk of Colby-jack cheese, and 2 cups of milk. I don't even know where it all went, but I'm too tired to really care.
6:30: Try to get him to watch Daniel Tiger with me so I can sit down. He keeps trying to pull me up and asks "More please" because he wants more applesauce.
6:50: Ignore the tantrum he throws because I took off his shorts. Fight to get him into pajamas and into bed.
7: E is asleep pretty much the second he's in bed, of course.

As for the rest of the night, I need to make up and bake some more freezer meatballs. Then I'm going to have a big glass of wine, watch an episode of Grey's Anatomy and maybe take a bath. My MIL asked me to make a photo book from our beach vacation, and I should probably work on it, but eff it. Now all I have to do is get off the couch...

6:15 - wake up bc I can hear DH getting out of the shower so I give him lots of kisses and go back to bed

7:45 - hear LO talking to herself in bed so I get ready and afterwards I go get her and we both get dressed for the day. We have breakfast, put in a load of laundry and get ready to leave the house

9:45 - we leave for a summer reading program class she's in this month. This week's theme is colors and they have some great books, art projects and songs. They also watch a short clip of Harold and the Purple Crayon.

11.30 - lunch with the reading program kids

12:15 - we leave and head to the grocery store

1:00 - we're home and my parents meet us with some food so I have some lunch and LO snacks on various bites of food from my parents. They play with LO in the backyard while I unload and load the dishwasher and move the laundry

2:00 - I leave for my OB appointment and LO stays home with my parents who will put her down for her nap

3:15 - get home and make pasta salad for dinner. Send some emails I need to get out

4:30 - LO did not nap but just talked to herself in bed so I get her up

LO is eating dinner now and she will have an early bedtime which I love bc I get some extra quiet time with DH

A day in the life with twins!

5:35 am- DS wakes up, cries. DD wakes up when I creep in to try and get DS, so DH has to get up and get her. They get bottles and chill for a few minutes, then play with toys. Both are insanely fussy (unusual) and keep alternating crying and clinging to me. Super fun.
7:00 am- DH comes back with breakfast for the babies (eggs, toast, homefries). They eat approximately one piece of potato and half a mouthful of egg and then throw the rest on the ground.
8:30 am- Down for a nap. I play on iPad, clean up the breakfast mess, take a shower. Our nanny arrives at 10, so I get to go to the gym!
10:30 am - Babies wake up from their nap, I'm still at the gym, haha, win!
11:00 am- Return home, nanny has babies in the stroller, heading out to a playdate. Excellent.
11:30 am- I meet up with a CL woman whom I'm buying some shoes from, then head to the grocery store. $95 and two gigantic cloth bags full later, I lug everything home 8 blocks and 2 avenues and pretty much die in the process. Babies are home and our nanny has given them lunch (and cleaned up afterwards, win!) We all play for a while.
1:30 pm- Babies go down for second nap. I go to the post office and argue with the lady about several stupid things (apparently, you can't have duct tape on packages anymore). I'm forced to buy a roll of packing tape and re-do my package. Grrr...
2:00 pm- Come back to apartment with plans to drag gigantic box containing faulty car seat to a Fed Ex location a few blocks away but am thwarted by a passing thunderstorm. HB, FB and a few emails later, storm is passed and I'm on my way. Drag giant cardboard box to Fed Ex, then hit up DSW next door but turn up empty handed. Stop at the Goodwill a few blocks away and score! Find a bike with a baby seat on it! We've been stalking Craigslist for a man's bike plus a baby seat so to find the two together is awesome! DH ends up getting the bike on his way home from work.
4:00 pm- Come home, babies are away. We pile into the stroller and head to the Children's Museum for a half an hour, then go back to the apartment, grab the dog and go to Central Park for a 45 minute walk. Attempt to let babies out of stroller to walk around and play but all that results in is 2 skinned knees and a scrape on the chin, so they go back into the stroller, protesting.
5:45 pm- Give babies dinner, most of which is thrown on the floor. Sing clean up song while putting the tornado of toys away, Babies follow behind and promptly dump out all the toys I've just put away. Clean up the dinner mess while babies play.
6:30 pm- Bathtime! Then pjs, book, bottle and into the cribs by 7:15, asleep by 7:18.
7:20 pm- WINE. WINE. WINE. WINE.

And that is the probably-more-detailed-than-you-wanted description of my day.

4:15am: Nurse M (this was her only wakeup...score!)
6am: Wake up & get ready for work
7am: Leave for work
7:45am: Arrive at work with Starbucks in hand
12:30pm: Leave work (took a half day)
1:10pm: Arrive at home, relax for a bit
2:15pm: Pick LO up from daycare
2:30pm: Take LO to her ENT appointment
3:15pm: Meet @Leialou: for frozen yogurt
4:00pm: Arrive home, play with LO
5:45pm: Dinnertime for LO
6:15pm: Bath time
6:30pm: Nurse LO & put her to bed
7:30pm: About to start making dinner
