We have an Ikea Trondheim 3-drawer chest. I don't know how tall it is off the top of my head ... I think it's. bit taller than 30, though. We never had a need for any sort of lip or edge, as the cooshee changer we have has one of its own. Also, we put non-skid cabinet liner under it and that sucker doesn't move.

The changing pad we bought at BBB came with snaps that go into the back of the dresser so it doesn't move. I don't know how tall our dresser is, got at a baby furniture store but it works great.

I'm not sure what the height is, but here's a pic of mine. It works perfectly for us - we don't even have anything keeping the changing pad attached to the dresser. (I just obviously don't leave DD on it by herself)

The furniture set we got (Babi Italia Pinehurst) came with the wodden frame and the main reason I like it is because now that she is older it keeps things on top of the dresser (she has a tendency to kick a lot during diaper changes. I like that the one we have only bolts on to the back of the dresser, so it will come off nicely once it doesn't need to be a changer anymore.

Since we're going to be in a 2 bedroom condo or apartment by then (if we can ever find the right place!) and we're planning on keeping LO in our room the first 6 months, we are just going to put a changing pad on top of our existing Ikea Hemnes dresser, like the picture.

For the baby diapers, wipes, etc, I'm going to have cute colored storage cubes or baskets and just keep them on top, like the second pic.

@Foodnerd81: I like the look of it, and it's definitely cheap for the space you get---but it's not a solid wood piece or anything. It's like most Ikea furniture. I really like it, and it's great for us....but i can't see keeping it 20 years or anything. Not sure if that helps you at all! =)

@Foodnerd81: I'm not necessarily a fan of the door w/ shelves - I agree with you that it makes it look like a piece of furniture you bought as part of a baby set. We got it SUPER cheap though, so I won't mind replacing it.

@Cara M. 17: We found it on Craigslist - sorry, not very helpful! Haha. I feel like I saw similar pieces at Nebraska Furniture Mart/Buy Buy Baby/Babies R Us though. There is plenty of room right now (10 weeks) to change her without that first shelf getting in the way - when she's older though... not so sure.

We put some nonslip cabinet liner ($4 for a roll at Target) under the changing pad and that keeps it in place without the need for a wooden frame.

I bought a vintage dresser at a consignment & painted it, then I just plopped the pad on top. Right now there's nothing keeping it on but I'm going to add rubber shelf liner when she gets more mobile. I just like the look of the dresser and pad more than the changing table... plus, you can reuse the dresser when babe is older!

@Anagram: we will have the same set up as you. We already have one Hemnes dresser in our room and we are getting another for baby. Ikea quality or not, I love these dressers!
