This is the second day of "Stormwatch 2014" here in SoCal. (LOL). We've been to the indoor mall playground, library, and Target. We've played at home, taken super long baths, and read. What else can I do with a one year old who doesn't walk yet?
We don't watch TV.

@Smurfette: I'm not sure what crafts to do with her! Jumping in puddles/getting dirty after the rain stops is a great idea though! She loves getting messy, my little piglet.

@Ginabean3: I know at day care (R is almost 1) they put paint in a ziploc paint and let them paint that way. Could you make edible paint and put a trash bag on the floor and let her paint that way?

This was us last year! (We live in the Pacific Northwest) There are many days when we're stuck indoors b/c of the rain - LO usually "helps" me clean or do chores (she loves "folding" laundry and Swiffering the floor), we open a new toy that I've been saving, read books, or invite a friend over for a playdate. We're kinda homebodies we stay home a lot

@pinkcupcake: if I could get her to Swiffer the floor that would be amazing.....but she can't walk unassisted yet.....maybe I can attach swiffers to her knees......

Also try making your own playdough, or egg free cookie dough. That way if she eats it, NBD.

I put all the couch cushions and pillows from the bed on the living room floor and make an obstacle course for LO to crawl around on rainy days. That usually keeps her occupied for a while.

@Ginabean3: we should do an OC rainy day playdate the next time it rains (like... next year? ha!). we've been watching more TV than usual and reading books like crazy. I also have a tunnel (like they have at Gymboree) for her to crawl through, and I basically let her make a mess and we clean it up together (taking out all of the toys in her toy box, books off the shelf, etc.).

It's supposed to rain here today and tomorrow and I plan to take LO to the Children's Museum. It has an awesome infant/toddler room that she has loved even before walking.
I've tried basic crafts with her and she isn't that interested yet. Maybe this will motivate me to make edible paint and play dough this weekend!

@Weagle: the girl really likes her baths!!!! except her fave thing now is to stand up in it and jump around....so slippery and dangerous!

We are also in SoCal (so happy we're getting rain!) with a 10 mo. He is obsessed with forts! I'll build a pathetic fort and he goes NUTS!
