I ordered a k'tan off NBD because it was super cheap and I rarely see them in my size. But since the LO isn't due for another 5 months, I'm not sure how to test it out! We have some friends with babies around 6-8 months old, but none younger so I don't know if "borrowing" one would work, haha. And at home, we don't have any big stuffed animals or anything...just a cat who certainly won't consent to be the tester (not to mention, I don't want to get the carrier all hairy). Any ideas? Or do I just wait and see how it goes once the baby actually comes?
I might wrap a small towel or blanket around a bag of flour just to get a very general sense of how it fits -- seems like that would work pretty well! I went to a baby stuff store where they had weighted dolls to use as testers but they only carry Ergos and Bjorns so it wasn't very helpful. I think we'll eventually get an Ergo or a Beco Gemini, but I'm not going to do that until the LO is a couple months old so we can actually test them. But I figured that at $25, the k'tan was worth a try regardless.
