@Corduroy: I think also, when people give compliments like that, they are like "dang, that had to have been nerve wracking, that must have been hard!" When I have heard it, it seemed to me it was coming from a place of empathy and admiration rather than sympathy.

Heck, I just did a presentation two weeks ago and I got lots of compliments.. never thought it meant anything other than what was said.

Soooo I'd say forget this self doubt and reading into the compliments and take them at face value, just like all other pp's said!
