I thought it was interesting that when looking at after-tax incomes of the middle class, Canada came out on top over the US. Considering all the rationalizing of about how Canadians have x programs because we pay higher taxes, these were some pretty interesting results.
It's still really sad to see how much of the wealth remains on top though.

I never realized the middle class was the richest. I've seen the chart of how wealth is distributed here in the US and it's shocking.

I didn't know we were the richest - I would have guessed we were not, in part because of health care costs.

Income equality is a big deal. Interesting read.
As someone that worked hard to get a good middle class income... it's definitely tough. Can't afford nice housing and retirement looks impossible. I sometimes wonder how worst it will be for LO. Maybe things will get better by the time he's older. We will see.
