Lady, it does not happen like that. You don't have one contraction and just decide that it's time.
This is an annoying cliche in TV and movies. It never bugged me until I had the worlds worst false labor for weeks upon weeks. Haha

I saw Rachel's delivery on Friends the other day, and it was SO unrealistic! No one looks that good and laughs so much during labor!

@grizz: When I first got the hospital I asked the nurse and she said I was the only one in labor that needed to be. Then around lunch, the new nurse said my doc would be after she delivered another. I said What? Is this going to be like Friends when everyone delivers before me after coming in after me? She laughed but 4 babies came before R!

@Smurfette: Not the same but my friend had her baby 5 months after me. She was induced at 40 weeks exactly just like me, at 6am just like me, and pushed and had her son hours before it took me to dilate to 4cm
As much as I love her I was so so bitter. Haha

Ever see the movie, "What to Expect When You are Expecting?" I had to push for 3 hours to get my LO out, and I just kept running that scene through my mind of the woman with twins that sneezed and one popped out...made me so mad
