I really only buy used for LO. If it's new it's on sale or clearance. So I spend about $2-$5 per shirt (new or used), $3-$6 on pants, $3-$5 on pajamas etc. They are mostly Carter's brand but some Children's Place, Old Navy, Gap, Crazy 8 or Target brand. If it were a special occasion like photos or birthday I would spend about $20-$25 on an outfit. Again, I'm pretty cheap when it comes to clothes. I get good quality though, I don't like to buy low quality items.

I don't have one. I base it on the item and how much I like it and how often I think she will wear it.

I pretty much try to spend $10 a piece or less than $20 on an outfit or dress. Obviously, I buy cheap stuff at Target or Carter's, or clearance, or with coupons, etc.

I love super cute clothes, but so far it's been really easy to find cheap cute stuff for babies.

I try to stay under $5 for tshirts an leggings, under $10 for jeans/pants. I usually buy new on serious clearance. Old Navy and Carter's are my friend's.

It depends on how much I like it. Generally I stay under ten per piece.

I've never really thought about it. I usually buy on sale or with a coupon!

Oh gosh, I am the wrong person to comment on this because I am a clothing nut. That being said, I never buy full price - I just buy too much of "good deals".

For daycare I really try and keep outfits under $10 and I can regularly do this at gymboree with buying ahead, sales and coupons. I am a Janie and Jack NUT and can easily watch for good sales and spend under $25 on an outfit. I can also very easily spend $50+ on an outfit there which I do occasionally, but I take very good care of these sets and sell them used so this probably brings my cost for these outfits way down.

I buy a lot of used J&J as well and spend maybe $10 or $15 an outfit/dress which is what I would pay for a new outfit I love less. Some items, like their rompers and fancy dresses, I pay more for and then sell. Here's an example of an outfit. I paid $12 for the skirt new (SCORED on this) and $10 shipped for the top so a $22 outfit. I'll probably be able to sell this for $15-$20 plus shipping, maybe more because it's a set.

Yeah, I think I need a 12-step program for clothes buying. So.Much.Cuteness!

@fussygal: I would wait until DD is bigger and you see how she grows. For the first year I really just worked with what we were given and supplementing with items I really liked. Once all those clothes dried up, that's when I really started having fun. haha!! P.S. BEST time to buy J&J is black friday. Discount plus a coupon. As cheap as it will get!

@fussygal: oh man, I regret every single piece of clothing I bought while pregnant! He grew SO SO fast he was always at least 3 months ahead in sizing, and his head was so big he didn't fit in a lot of it.

I try to only buy used unless I have a really specific need that I am not finding - so $5 or less a piece. I've found more and more that we end up wearing the same outfits. My LO HATES "woven" pants like jeans that aren't knit/stretchy so those were all a waste of $ too!

I just started shopping secondhand and have found so many cute clothes. I have even found lots that still have tags.

@fussygal: as in my LO's age? Well, around the house, as an infant E would always wear jeggings and onesies - they were inexpensive and she did a lot of rolling, scooting, then crawling which cleaned my floors but her clothes did get icky by the end of the day. She still wears pretty much the same as a toddler now, leggings and t-shirts but she's a different kind of messy...less drooling but more spills.

Nicer outfits, worn in front of family visiting, to church, certain family events, I would keep her in for a few hours and then change usually. Especially when she started solids at 6 months.

When he was <12-15 months I never paid more than $5-$7 an item. But it was easier to shop major clearance when I could buy whatever sizes were on sale. Now that he's bigger and I have to buy his specific size, it's more difficult. I will pay $10-$15 an item but prefer to keep it under $10 if possible. The secondhand stores around her are pretty grody and don't have nice things at all, so I pretty much have to buy all his stuff new. I only shop gap armed with a 40% off coupon though.

I try to stay around $10 or less per item. There are a few things where I've spent more, like dresses for a special occasion or her coats.

She's gotten a ton of wear on stuff because she's so tiny. She's been wearing 9-12 and 12-18 stuff for months now.

I never really thought about it. I just try to buy on sale and clearance. I would say like 15-20 max for good pants & I like to buy shirts for $5 or sets of onsies for $10-15.

I buy pretty much everything on clearance. Mostly Target and Old Navy, though I do adore and drool over Baby Gap, Mini Boden, and Tea Collection. My dad buys Vi several items everytime Tea has a sale.

Depends on my mood and how much I like the item. I usually only buy on sale or with a coupon or both. She has a decent amount of some more expensive brands but most were purchased used or on super discount (or by my mom, lol). I try not to go over $20-25 per outfit.

When she was little, nearly all her clothes were used or gifted.

I buy used or on major sale. I splurge occasionally, but keep it below 15.00 per item. I like to spend no more than about 7.00 per item (which is why I buy used).
My LO has a closet full of Tea, Boden, Gap, and Polarn o Pyret- but it was purchased used, or on major sale (more than 50% off).
I will buy more expensive winter gear, but that is kind of a necessity. But I still shop on sale for things like woolens and outerwear. I got her a 100% merino wool onesie and pants for like 20 bucks at the end of season sale at P.o P.- such a deal.

I tend to buy most of his stuff from Carter's or H&M, which is fairly cheap from the get-go. But then I always try to use a coupon or a coupon code or wait for a sale. I don't really have a set "limit" per se, but typically if something is over $15, I try to wait for it to drop in price.
