The thread about the $100 grocery list per week got me thinking...What do you think the lowest amount of money would be that you could spend on groceries per month? We are trying to cut down our grocery bill to as little as possible, but with being realistic. This would not include toiletries.

I could probably do that if I had to. It wouldn't be very fun.

Probably 150-200/month would be my bare minimum. We already keep our groceries low as it is and spend about $250-$300 which includes snacks, junk food, and juices. Bare min, for a month I think we'd go through:
2 gallons of milk, (3.69 each)
1 dozen eggs, (2.89)
bag of potatoes (2.50)
7-10 lbs of meat/week @ 1.99 lb
5-8 lbs of veggies/week @ 99c - $1.49/lb
4-5 boxes of cereal, 2.50/box
2 bags of frozen dumplings 3.50/bag
Bag of noodles $2
1 can of waffle mix, $8
4 bags of bagels, 3.69/each
2 tubs of cottage cheese, 2.5/each -
Right now.... probably ~$500 bare minimum. It's me, DH, G, and I'm currently breastfeeding P who is intolerant to a number of things so we eat dairy, soy, & gluten free (automatically makes the grocery bill more).
I buy almost solely for dinners and minimal breakfasts (cereal for G & green smoothies for me). We eat sandwiches or left overs for lunch and I only make 5 meals a week.
I've been averaging 135 a week the last month, not counting non-food items.

Since moving to Hawaii, my lowest grocery bill has been around $125/week.

I think we could get down to $350 if we had to, but $400 is realistically the minimum (and we would still eat out some with that cause we are REALLY BAD about eatin out - its our major vice)

I'm guessing $400 for the two of us at the moment, mainly because we buy organic produce and grass-fed meats/dairy. We don't even eat out either!

I spent a total of $300 last month (2 trips of $150) because I decided to use everything before going again (instead of just buying more when we hadn't used what we had yet)
Mind you we ate out for lunch few times but nothing expensive...maybe $75 total. -
I have no idea! We budget $400 and have such a hard time keeping it at that! I don't know how to cut the costs anymore than we do!

We spend $300 a month and I don't think I could go less than that.

I spend about 100$ every two weeks, so 200$? Realistically though I'd put that at 250 to allow for some wiggle room.

We could get it down to $200 a month with excessive couponing (I went through a coupon phase and was able to do it before). It's a lot of work though, searching ads and comparing coupons to find the best deals!
